Must-knows for SFIN

The financials add-on replaces the classical ERP Financials in your ERP installation. Both cannot be run in
parallel within the same system installation.
Not all industry solutions and ERP add-ons can be combined with the financials add-on as of today. Check
prerequisites for installing the financials add-on (also see notes below).
Before you install the finance add-on, you must prepare the migration of application data. Resolve
inconsistencies before the add-on installation.
Use latest version / patchlevel of Software Update Manager (SUM).
Important notes: SAP Simple Finance add-on 1.0: 1925902 (RIN), 1968568, 1976158 (Released Processes,
Add-Ons, etc.) , 1967187 (HANA Live Installation) / SAP Simple Finance add-on 2.0: 2117481 (RIN), 2119188,

The installation of the SAP Simple Finance add-on is no longer an additional second step after the

This reduces the implementation time and effort.

Check customer-owned code for any adaptations needed to comply

with the new SAP Simple Finance data model, otherwise the SAP
Simple Finance installation may be blocked with ABAP dictionary
activation errors !
Similar to any other upgrade/update, modifications may need to be revoked / adapted after a new version of
the SAP standard ABAP dictionary (SPDD) or code (SPAU) was applied. Likewise customer-owned
programs may need to be adapted and tested after an upgrade/update.
However SAP Simple Finance comes with more fundamental changes (simplification) of the underlying data
model - the risk of incompatible customer programs or modifications is higher.

Key points to be checked to avoid issues during the installation of SAP Simple Finance:
Any non-standard fields or database indices added to the aggregate and index tables, which are
abandoned with SAP Simple Finance?
Any non-standard ABAP dictionary objects (esp. views) referencing these aggregate and index
tables?
Any WRITE access (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and MODIFY) to any of the obsolete database

Stack XML calculation fails if the installations current stack includes software components

Check and get latest Software Update Manager (SUM) release and
patch level before you start.
SUM has implemented special routines to simplify the SAP Simple Finance accounting data model during
the installation procedure.
Aggregate (e.g. GLT0) and application index tables (e.g. BSIS) are deleted and replaced by equally named
compatibility views. These views ensure, that database SELECTs retrieve the same information from
underlying documents.
The related table content is saved into backup tables, which will be used for the application data migration.
SAP strongly recommends to check latest updates on SUM and to use the latest SUM patch level.

In SAP Simple Finance add-on 1.0 totals and application index tables were removed and replaced by equally
named DDL SQL views, so-called compatibility views. These views are generated from DDL sources.

In SAP Simple Finance add-on 2.0 additional tables were (partially) replaced by Universal Journal (ACDOCA)
The approach for compatibility views in release 2.0 differs from 1.0:
Compatibility views do not have the same name as the original tables.
Instead the database interface (DBI) redirects all related database table SELECTs to a compatibility view, which
retrieves the same data based on the new data model (ACDOCA etc.).
The connection between table and compatibility view is NOT created during the installation w/ SUM

sequentially: ZFGLV_GLTT_Cx (totals) and

data of FAGLFLEXT is stored in table
FAGLFLEXT_BCK (accessible e.g. via SE16)
FAGLFLEXA
The old data of all other SAP delivered New G/L

tables (e.g. FAGLFLEXA, FMGLFLEXT etc.) remains
in these tables. Access to the old data is still possible
via the views V_<TABLENAME>_ORI (e.g.
V_FAGLFLEXA_ORI).

Customers who want to access old data in customer

defined New G/L tables have to create views in the
