1. This website highlights the positive effects that steroids have on athletic performance on
and off the field. Also it breaks down the characteristics of a person who is using steroids
and identifies what advantages they have over competitors. Healthguidance.org also
describes how the use of steroids can prevent you from attracting certain diseases such as
muscular dystrophy and etc.
2. David Ferguson, PhD, University of Minnesota- This article came from an online
magazine.David is a pharmacology and drugs expert at the University of Minnesota.
David explains how steroids arent the only form of PEDs out there. By doing in depth
research on Davids articles and books I learned about two more popular PEDs, which
were the Human Growth Hormone, or HGH and also another stimulant called Ephedrine.

able to help me better describe health and safety risks associated with each type of PED

or steroid. Also, it allows be to provide information to my audience about what type of


drugs are prohibited by WADA.
4. www.drugabuse.gov- This organization highlights the top abused drugs drugs in the
sports world and also the top drugs people use. The National Institute on Drug Abuse
specifically identifies the behavior reaction each drug can cause an individual to have.
5. Performance Enhancing Drugs in Sports Fast Facts(CNN.com)- This article explains
how the use of performance-enhancing drugs by professional athletes has been a
noticeable issue as early as the 1960s. The article expresses how doping is an
unprecedented attack on the integrity of sport by not competing fairly. I learned from this
article that the use of steroids in professional sport is actually illegal.
