COLD CALL:
Please note the various steps in the methods below are based on failure to
connect
with the customer. Obviously if the customer replies positively at any point in
these
steps, the remaining steps are not needed because successful dialogue has
already
began.
METHOD 1:
1. Send intro letter (if you wish to call this customer then mention you will
call them soon at the end of your letter).
2. Call the next day.
3. Send letter number 2 after phone call (mentioning that you called and
including
anything useful you learned from the call you can use in the letter).
4. Send letter number 3.
5. Finally, if no reply to letter number 3, note customer as unresponsive and
add to weekly mailing list. (Maybe they will contact in the future).
METHOD 2* - cold calling
1. Call customer directly get name of contact, their email, and tell them
you will send an email immediately after the phone call.
2. Send pre-prepared email.
3. If no response in next day, call again.
4. Send letter number 2.
5. Send letter number 3.
6. Finally, if still no reply to letter number 3, note customer as unresponsive
and add to weekly mailing list. (Maybe they will contact in the future).
*Method 2 is especially good if the company you wish to do business with only
has
an info@ or sales@ email address. Use this method to find the right contact
you need!
Especially if you have tried the info@/sales@ email address before but had no
replies.
This is most likely because the info@/sales@ email address is full of emails
and
the company will generally only reply to emails for sales.

To make the Power Marketing Strategy work please prepare these things
highlighted
in yellow:
Create and a model intro letter.
Create a model letter you can send IMMEDIATELY after getting a new
contacts
email address after making a cold call*.
Create the number 2 and number 3 follow up letters to send in case there is
no reply from the first.
*You should always have your email fully prepared to send after getting an
email address from a cold call, so the customer receives it instantly!!!
The two KEY pieces of info you need to get from your phone call:
1. Name of the person to contact
2. Email of the person to contact
*REMEMBER: always keep the call simple and energetic!!!
Example phrases to use for phone call after intro letter:
- Hi, this is FRANK calling from Sunspeed Floors in China!! I sent you an email
yesterday about our laminate flooring and wondering if you got it?
- Hi, Im FRANK calling from Sunspeed Floors in China!! Id like to check
if (CONTACTS NAME) has received the important email I sent yesterday. Any
chance you can put me through to him/her so I can speak to him/her about
it?
- Hi, Im FRANK calling from Sunspeed Floors in China!! I sent an important
email to your info@ address yesterday and Id like to check if you received
it.
- Hi, Im FRANK calling from China. How are you? Im calling to see if you
received the email I sent yesterday.
- Hi, this is FRANK. Im calling from China!! (How are you?) I sent an email
to your info@ email address but got no response. Is there a specific person
I can contact for purchasing? Would you mind giving me their email address
so I can send a letter to them?
Example phrases to use when making a Cold Call
- Good morning, Im calling from China!! Were a manufacturer of laminate
flooring and wed like to discuss cooperation with your company. Is there
someone I can speak to responsible for purchasing?
- Hi, Im FRANK and Im calling from China!! Were a laminate flooring and
manufacturer were very interested to start business with you. Who can I
speak to for this?

to become your long-term supplier. Is there someone I can speak to

responsible
for purchasing?
- Hi, Im FRANK calling from China!! Were a laminate floor supplier and
wed like to show you the excellent price advantages we can offer your
company. Is there someone I can email about this?
- Hi, Im calling from China and Id like to send an exciting introduction
to our laminate flooring products and prices. Do you have a specific email
address I can send this to? (other than your info@ email address).
Some important points to make during your phone calls:
1. Were a manufacturer of laminate floors and export regularly to (COUNTRY
NAME).
2. Other companies in your country are benefiting from our products and wed
like to show you the advantages we can offer you with our flooring.
3. As you are a major distributor of laminate floor in (COUNTRY NAME) wed
like
to become your long-term supplier.
Other questions you can ask:
Have you imported laminate flooring from China before?
- If YES try to find out more about this and if their experience so far is positive
or negative).
- If NO tell them that it could save them a lot of money: we can OEM their
current
brand and provide them with excellent quality but cheaper price.
Have you considered sourcing your laminate flooring from China? (If the
customer
gives a negative response and says they would be concerned about quality
tell them
we can send them samples to check the quality themselves).
Would you like me to include some popular colours other customers in
(CUSTOMERS
COUNTRY) have ordered from us in my email to you?
