Chris watts was a Professor in the Fine Art department at the WSU. He recently is retired and
dedicate his life into this pattern art. It is using a mathematics, order and patterning into a certain
degree to investigate the structure of our world. Most of his artwork will start from a scratch
paper of the pattern he wants (could be formal, pattern drawing, and random numbered). A
drawing he did contains at least 7 pattern and which it is very complicated. For example, 1 to 10
and only the singular will be draw blue. This could be the first pattern and the other will be 5 and
10 will be draw white, etc. First impression of his art work is complicated, confusion very hard
to understand. However, after he explaining the rule or the patterning of the certain drawing. It is
pretty fun to follow. This is not just drawing he is doing on it, but also sculpturing, painting and
even music. This is very abstract of art work I have ever come across with and this is pretty fun
experience for me.
