On the 3rd of March, Ander Goitia a student
from the 4th Year ate the incredible number of
35 croquets! He beat the last record of the
school that was 34 croquets and that was set by
Juan Félix, a student that was in this school a
few years ago. He wrote himself into school
history! said Iñigo Fernández.

The negative view of this new record was that

the people that were encouraging Ander to beat
it, were disturbing the others and producing an
unpleasant atmosphere for the dinning room,
However, the main problem was that students
ignored the dinner ladies. Tim commented that
he thought it was a crass and vulgar and very
much a late 20th century phenomenon- consum-
ing far too much while other people don’t have
food

URKO OUT
The week from the 25th of January a student
called Urko Mendieta was expelled for class the
whole week.

Urko Mendieta was expelled from Maths

class al the week.The reason of why he was
expelled is that he was shouting and talking while
Josean was triying to speak.He was talking
because was bored.Urko said “I am always out,it
is not fear”.Patricia Porta said “ It is always the
same,all the people shouting in every maths
class”.

 Carnival at school!
This February just like every year, we are going
to celebrate the extraordinary festival called
Carnival. We, the students, love this day, be-
cause we all get dressed up as fantastic charac-
ters which appear in: books, films, television or
real life. We enjoy this day at school and it is
also one of our favourite days, because we have
lots of fun, looking at some of the most original
outfits you can ever imagine! “We usually
spend a lot of time searching for the most suit-
able dress”, said Marta Arriaga a student from
the 4th Year.

The mystery of the fire

alarm!
Last Friday, 5th Februrary, somebody broke the
glass of the fire alarm, which interrupted all the
activities that the people were doing at 11:30
am. This was really surprising for everybody
and the most stupid thing we have ever seen in
school, because I mean, what is the objective of
doing that?, do you gain anything? Well the
thing is that nobody knows who did it, so “it
will be the school mystery!” said Adrián Tejeda
a student from the 4th Year.

Football tournament

The 27th of January the 4th of E.S.O stu-

dents organized a football tournament at
the hockey field
The tournament was very interesting and
people of all ages turned up to watch good
football.The teams were chosen randomly
and each team was made up of by 5
players.The referee
was Adrian Agueros.The initiative of doing
this tournament was ignacio´s idea: " I had
this idea because i thought lot of people
like football and by doing this tournament
all the people could play,and have a good
time"

Toledo
The 16 of May, the 4th year eso students are go-
ing to Toledo. They are going to do different
activities and visit many different places.
In spite the trip is called Toledo, they will visit
many places as: Palencia,Salamanca and El To-
boso.
Last year, the 4th year eso students get into a big
trouble. They were catched drunk and with al-
coholic drinks in the centre of Toledo and they
get a fine of 300 hundred euros each. Because
that particular reason, this year, the students
that are going will be much more controlled, so
they are not going to have a so good time.

 Saturday´s Punishment
In the past Saturdays, a couple of students have
spent the whole morning in the school because
different reasons. The students were in the
school from 8:30 to 12:30 with a five minutes
break each hour.

The last Saturday of February five students

were punished because they painted graffiti in
their classes. Only four of them came, so will
the fifth one get in trouble? We have talked
with John Phillips to find a bit about it, and we
have found that the student that didn’t come is
going to be punished the first Saturday of the
Easter holidays.
Like this has been a repetitive punishment we
thought that it was going to be a regular thing,
but John Phillips told us that he expects to be a
one off, because he hopes does he doesn’t have
to punish anyone.

Sanpa Students in Real Sociedad
training
The First of June St-Patrick’s English
School was invited to attend the Real Sociedad
training.

The students of 3rd and 4th of primary attend to

Real Sociedad training from 10 o’clock to
12:30pm.They were invited by Vasconia Foot-
ball Club. Meanwhile the Real Sociedad play-
ers were training the Sanpa students were
shouting and having a good time seeing their
favourite players.

 Ignacio talks to Obama
The 15th of May 2010, Ignacio planned to do an interview to Barack Obama so he
tried to contact the white house via email.The email (below) was composed by a
traditional formal email and a couple of questions that were going to be used
afterward for the interview.As every body feared the email wasn´t answered and as a
result Ignacio decided to prepare a survey about what people thinks about Obama
instead.(Following pages)

Dear Obama,

I am Ignacio Mayoz, a 16 year old Spanish student. I live in San Sebastian, a little
city situated in the north of Spain. I go to St Patrick’s English school where I have
been learning English since I was 3. In my school, every year a magazine made by
pupils is published, so I am writing to ask you for an interview. I am preparing a
project for the school magazine and one of the parts consists in doing an interview
with a person who has good values, and I thought, who better than Barack Obama?

So I was wondering whether you could answer some questions of interest to my

generation. I would understand if you could not have a face to face meeting with me
because you are really busy but I would be enormously grateful if you would allow
me to send you some questions via email.

The questions I want to ask you are in relation with three main themes: work,
personal themes and others.

 School Uniform
First of all I think it is important to say that
most of St-Patricks students wear the
school uniform,maybe because they like it
or maybe because they are afraid of
teacher taking it out.
There are lots of positive features of wear-
ing school uniform.Students do not have to
be nervous all mornings about what they
are going to wear because they have the
school uniform.Furthermore it is very com-
fortable and you can choose between
wearing uniform or tracksuit.An other posi-
tive feature that wearing uniform has is that
it looks nice when all the people are wear-
ing the uniform ,this means it look like a
good school.

On the other hand wearing a uniform does
have several negative
features.Firstly,people can not choose their
own clothes and they think it is repetitive to
wear always the same
thing.Secondly,people can not be able to
show off the new clothes and thirdly it is
boring wearing the same clothes without
having the chance of changing
clothes.Other disadvantage that has wear-
ing uniform is that the jumper is not warm
enough and for winter is not very usefull.
In coclusion wearing uniform has got ad-
vantages and disadvantages.However,in
my opinion wearing uniform it is very com-
fortable and better than not wearing it.
 Balance or Imbalance?

that you wake up one day with the brilliant idea
of making a simple bracelet and that later, in a
few weeks you realise that you are selling thou-
sands of your bracelets in a short period of

 Interview with Mc Chosman,
The school rapper
Cosme Mañero a student from the
4th Year in school, has talked with
us to tell us a little bit about his
hobby, rap. Since he came to
school in the 2nd Year we have al-
ways known him as a really good
rapper and he is famous in San
Sebastián for his rap! Recently we
talked to Cosme about what rap
means to him, what his first steps
in rap have been and what his fu-
ture in rap is going to be like.
Pablo: Have you always loved
rap?
Mc Chosman: Not always, but since I
was little I felt attracted to rap.
P: What or who introduced you
to rap?
Mc: The older boys at my last school,
Marianistas. And the first rap song I ever
heard was from the band “Arma
Blanca”.
P: What are the origins of your
hobby?
Mc: I started to listen to rap on my ipod
at the end of 1st Year.
P: How did you realise that rap
isn’t just a hobby, that it was
more for you?
Mc: I realised that, because there was a
moment in my life where I was listening
to rap every day at every moment and I
realised that rap was my passion.
P: Do you like to rap in your free
time?
Mc: Yes a lot, nowadays I do it less but
I still like it!
P: Do you participate in rap
competitions?
Mc: Yes I’ve gone to some, but they
were not very important. I’ve been in the
final twice and in the semi-final I’ve also
been twice, on the four battles which I
have participated.
P: When did you start to take rap
more seriously?
Mc: I haven’t started yet; I mean I have
only made two songs but nothing seri-
ous.
P: Who are your favourite rap-
pers?
Mc: My favourite rappers are Xhelazz,
Kase O, Teko and the band called C.P.V.
(club de los poetas violentos).
P: Do you like another type of
music?
Mc: Yes, I like Reggae a lot and Ska,
because the lyrics to the songs have a
similar meaning to rap songs, but with
more rhythm.

P: What is rap for you?
Mc: A lifestyle and a feeling!
P: When did you start to listen to
rap?
Mc: I started to listen to rap seriously
when I was 13 years old.
P: Do you have any dreams for
your life in rap?
Mc: Like everybody I would like to be
a well-known rapper and to transmit my
thoughts to other people by making good
songs.
P: Would you like to continue
rapping in your adult life?
Mc: Of course, until I die!
P: Have you met somebody fa-
mous in the rap world?
Mc: Yes I have been with Invert, who is
famous in Spain for being second in the
most important Spanish rap battle!
P: Do you think that rappers are
only problematic boys?
Mc: No, that is totally wrong; rap is
specifically based on respect!
P: Do you have any anecdotes in
your rap life?
Mc: That Invert made me a freestyle
comment in the rap battle where I was
participating which was (No quiero que-
dar mal ni hacer tongos, pero al Chos-
man ya le veo en la final).
P: Which rap is best, Spanish or
American?
Mc: The American rap is much more
advanced because they have been rap-
ping for more years, but I only listen to
national rap.
P: What do you think about re-
cent generations of rappers in
Spain?
Mc: Spanish rap is increasing its level
because of these new generations of rap-
pers that start to listen to rap and to par-
ticipate in rap battles earlier than in the

past. This is also because rap is now
more popular with the younger genera-
tions than before. However, in rap bat-
tles, rappers are loosing the “feeling”
and now no one makes good rap in the
battles, they only insult the opponent us-
