STANDARD 1: Curriculum, Planning, and Assessment standard: Promotes the learning

and growth of all students by providing high quality and coherent instruction, designing and
administering authentic and meaningful student assessments, analyzing student performance and
growth data, using this data to improve instruction, providing students with constructive
feedback on an on-going basis, and continuously refining learning objectives.
INDICATOR 1a: Curriculum and Planning indicator: Knows the subject matter well, has a
good grasp of child development and how students learn, and designs effective and rigorous
standards-based units of instruction consisting of well-structured lessons with measurable
outcomes.
EVIDENCE: (two)
1. Teacher Feedback from Observation #1, 11/7/2016, shows that the
activities that were present in the lesson were developmentally
appropriate by getting the score of 2/3.

2. Lesson Plan 1 from 11/7/2016, all SPOs are up to national and state
standards and re specific and measurable while providing students
with opportunities to be challenged with the material.

DISCUSSION: (justify how each piece of evidence supported the

standard)
1. This piece of evidence supported the standard by proving that the
activities that were done in the presentation were developmentally
appropriate. The standard calls for the teacher to have a good grasp of
child development and how students learn. This relates to the piece of evidence through
the fact that it shows the teacher had a good grasp of child development and how students
learn by making the activities developmentally appropriate.
2. This piece of evidence supported the standard by providing an
example of the SPOs the students should accomplish by the end of the
lesson with proper teaching strategies. It also supports the standard
through being an effective and rigorous standard on the unit,
volleyball. It consists of a well-structured lesson objective and has a
measurable outcome by having the students demonstrate and
appropriate set and bump during gameplay.

STANDARD (2): Teaching All Students standard: Promotes the learning and growth of all
students through instructional practices that establish high expectations, crease a safe and
effective classroom, environment, and demonstrate cultural proficiency.
INDICATOR (a) Instruction indicator: Uses instructional practices that reflect high
expectations regarding content and quality of effort and work, engage all students, and are
personalized to accommodate diverse learning styles, needs, interests, and levels of readiness.
EVIDENCE: (two)
1. Reflection #2, from 11/14/2016 showed that the teacher was able to
connect to the students interests.

2. Lesson Plan 3 from 11/21/2016, showed that the teacher had various
extensions in the activities for the students to use.

DISCUSSION: (justify how

piece of evidence supported the standard)

each

1. By having the teacher compare zone defense to the last lesson taught,
using the scaffolding technique, the teacher was able to support the
standard by connecting to the students past experiences, and
interests. This helped the students to see what was being portrayed
through the lesson more efficiently. The teacher also asked the
students if any of them heard of the defensive strategies, when very
little, to no students raised their hand, the teacher realized that they
needed slow down the lesson and make a connection to a real life
example in order to help the students see what the focus was on a
more relatable level.
2. The second piece of evidence supported the standard through creating
an effective learning environment. By providing extensions, the
students had a chance to challenge themselves on a greater level, or
limit the challenge, in order to be able to execute the skill. By doing
this, the teacher was able to accommodate different learning styles,
and accommodate the different levels of readiness by allowing the
students to move up or down as they please.
