The specific company that we want to make a research is Volkswagen company

whereby in this company the issue that arise in making Corporate Social
Responsible activities were many. As we all know, Volkswagen is an German
international car company and it was established on 4 January 1937. The
company was headquartered in Wolfsburg and now it has become a largest
automaker in worldwide company. -64
Volkswagen was accused of illegally using cheat devices to evade clean air
standards for six years. It means that they make an unethical standard to make
profit which has become barriers to make Corporate Social Responsibilities
activities. The purpose was also to hide the fact that their diesel engines were
highly contaminating and polluting the environment without being knowing by
others. - 61
The challenge which is the narrow perception of the organization is clearly been
seen when Volkswagens action of hiding the fact of their diesel engines to
maximize profit and to make advantage over its competitors to become world
leading automaker company. Certain organization thought that implement the
CSR activities may become issue to build their profit. They does not care if they
polluted the air by emitting 40 times legal limit of nitrogen oxide as long as they
can make a profit and become a world leading automaker company. This has
make us observed that they thought that being ethical to the environment by
doing CSR activities will not give any profit to them and thats why they had
rather pollute the environment for their own interest. - 113
Secondly, the challenge of lack community participation in Corporate Social
Responsibilities activities can clearly been seen when the employees were
refusing to make ethical standard and their code of conduct were only for being
seen and know and not for applying and implementing it. Even their 24 page of
conduct is available, their employees only keep in their desk and let it there.
Moreover, even though their employees has participate in training in
implementing the code of conduct, some of the employees still involve in anticorruption and fraud cases. This is for the reason that the majority of group are
absence of information about what the CSR activities is and this make them turn
out to be less intensity for taking part the CSR program. 89
Nextly, the lack of transparency in the CSR activities. By that, it means that the
trust and responsiblility is passed to the shareholder and the stakeholder. Due to
the fraud that was happen among the workers in Volkswagen company, this has
broken the trust among them such as involving in technology engineering fraud.
After all, the challenge of certain organization that implement Corporate Social
Responsibilites activities in a different concept until bad ethical become good
ethical can clearly been seen in Volkswagen company when the company
refused the statement that the evidence of software manipulation in their
organization involving their few rogue employees is an isolated incident. They
defend them by defending their unethical manner where those who are
harvested can be saved. It also can be clearly seen when the systematic abuses
were began to spread among the managers of their company at all levels as the

case was far to be isolated and the investors also did not accept that the case of
giving unfair advantage over competitors which their share was fallen is an
isolated incident. The unethical manners that was happen in Volkswagen
company also has been kept as a secret among their workers for almost years in
order for them to increase their diesel market rapidly with easy way.
