Lesson 3: Firefighter

Prior Knowledge:
* Students already know the names of the jobs and their verbs. (Street cleaner, Taxi driver, Baker,
Clothes designer, painter, Writer, Window cleaner, Cleaner, Teacher, and Singer)
* Students already know some basic information about the firefighter.
Lesson Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be (better) able to:
* The student will be able to recognize the meaning of the new vocabulary. (Fire fighter, Fire
station, Uniform, Fire alarm, Fire engine, Ladder, and Rescue)
* Students will be able to build a simple sentence orally by using the new vocabulary. (Where dose
the firefighter work? What dose he do?)
* Students will be able to write a simple sentence for each job. (Where dose he/she work? What
dose he/she do?) High level: will be able to write. Middle level: will be able to complete the
sentences. Low level: will be able to copy the sentences by handwriting practice.

Lesson Activities:
1.

(Worksheet): Each student will be answering a simple worksheet activity individually by matching
the picture with the right word. (Street cleaner, Taxi driver, Baker, Clothes designer, painter,
Writer, Window cleaner, Cleaner, Teacher, and Singer)

2.

(Flashcards review): Students will be answering the question who is he/she? together from
the pictures that will be shown. (Street cleaner, Taxi driver, Baker, Clothes designer, painter,
Writer, Window cleaner, Cleaner, Teacher, and Singer)

3. (New vocabulary): Students will be focusing with the teacher to understand the new vocabulary
on the board. (Fire fighter, Fire station, Uniform, Fire alarm, Fire engine, Ladder, and Rescue)
4. (Listening): students will be listen to the audio twice, first one to understand it, the last one to
find the answer for the questions on the board and write it on the card. (Where does Mr Lucas
work? What clothes does a firefighter wear? What does Mr Lucas do when the re alarm rings?
What do fire fighters use to put out a fire? Why does Mr Lucas go to schools?) They will share
the answer as a groups and each group will comes with one answer card.
5. (Differentiation activity): Students will be working individual by their own worksheet according
to their level.
6. (Review the lesson): (if still time) Students will answer the questions orally. (Who is he/she?
Where he/she work? What he/she do? What is this picture?)
Evaluation / Assessment:
I will use my daily checklist (see Appendix 1) and give point on the activities N. 5 (Differentiation
activity) & N. 6 (Review the lesson). With collecting the works from the students worksheets and
cards.

Personal focus (related to PDP):

In this lesson Im working on my three PDP goals:


1.

Activity N. 1 (Worksheet) will be sent with the letter foe each 2 weeks to the each students
parents. According to my to PDP goal During semester 7 teaching practice, I will record the
students interact (orally and written) with their behavior (acceptable and unacceptable) and send
it to their parents each two weeks.

2. Appendix 1 daily checklist to count the goals, yellow point, and red point. It created to assess
the students behavior and participation orally and written during the class. According to my PDP
goal During semester 7 teaching practice, I will create a classroom rules and motivate students
to interact (orally and written) during the English class. Also to control their behavior too.
3. Activity N. 5 (Differentiation activity) for the high level students will be used in the display in
the classroom. According to my PDP goal During semester 7 teaching practice, I will designed
two displays inside the English classroom, one of them large and the other small. It will be
created by my students work in my class and some main information that they learn it.
