I am an ESFP
Upon taking the forced choice quiz online I had expectations based off of previous online
personality quizzes I have taken. I would say that this quiz was similar to those I have taken in
the past. One of the variances; however, would be the detailed information that was described
based on each letter of my personality. I scored an ESFP personality. The E standing for
Extravert, I scored a percentage of 28%, the S meaning Sensing at 16%, F for feeling at
28%, and lastly, P for perceiving at 22%. I further researched the meaning behind these letters
and my findings consisted of all these personality traits that all correlate to make me identifiable
to ESFP.
The Extraverted Sensing portion of my personality is described as a dominant function
that makes my reality through senses. I am in accordance with this trait because I am always
intrigued by touch. Being able to feel things through literal feeling is what at times connects me
to certain people or concepts. Another instance where I find this relatable is when I am trying
new foods. I am really keen on textures and if a new food has a strange or unfamiliar texture I
tend to not enjoy it.
Introverted Feeling is what leads to the decision making relative to my sensing. This is
more than often implied as opposed to verbally expressed and this could not be more true. When

sad, angry, or even happy I tend to not vocalize these emotions. I am not one to enjoy discussing
my feelings with others rather my actions simply, or not so simply, demonstrate how I am
feeling. Another point that my research noted what that I am not harmed by playful pokes or
pranks. This is accurate because instead of feeling personally victimized or getting my feelings
hurt: jokes and pranks make me feel loved and appreciated. Jokes and pranks are another way of
demonstrating ones feelings.
The Extraverted Thinking portion I believe relates mostly to my faith. Being raised
religious I have a solid foundation as to how I, seek out confirmation of the soundness of toughminded decisions (Butt). I am confident in many of my definitive answers because I am able to
back it up with my moralistic decisions based off of my religion.
I was able to find career choices that best suit my personality. ESFPs are good at
performing or entertaining skills, marketing roles are best for this. An occupation that involves
direct communication are encouraged. I find this helpful because I want to pursue a career in
pharmaceutical sales. My learning style as an ESFP is based off if I am actually enjoying what I
am learning. This is very relevant because as I recently picked up a minor in Bioinformatics. I
looked into this program because I was eager to study something that drew my interest and
sparked my intellect. Though the course work is challenging and topics discussed I am not
completely familiar with I am devoted to learning and understanding Bioinformatics. My
enjoyment of the courses is what allows me to be successful in them.
The last concept I researched is my communication skills. What makes me a successful
communicator is being able to communicate to relieve stress or elevate the mood. Topics that
involve feeling and emotion are how I communicate best. I tend to see myself being able to offer
valid opinions when I am discussing something I am passionate about or something I care deeply

for. One thing that does however hinder my communication is abstract or theoretical issues. I
think this is because I do not enjoy discussing things or issues that I do not relate to or do not
agree with.
Being able to take this quiz and learn a little bit more about my own personality was an
interesting way of analyzing myself. As an ESFP I see attributes from these traits in myself and I
am happy to now know a bit more about these traits and how the correlate to one another.
