NARRATIVE REPORT IN THE

1st CALABARZON Academe Industry Linkages

Held at De La Salle University, Dasmarinas, Cavite
October 25, 2016
Introduction
One of the parameters of development is the mobilization of different
economic forces. The private sector consisting of business establishments and the
academe which prepares the pool of future labor force are the two essential
components of the same. However, problem arises when the needs of each two
major forces do not meet each other standards. The problem of employment
mismatch arises. It happens when the needs of the industry do not match the skills
and trainings by the academe.
Now, it is a recognized fact that the advent of ASEAN integration is inevitable.
The opening of the doors among global neighbours in ASEAN region will bring both
benefits and challenges. It would be beneficial to the country for it would open
many opportunities both in trade and commerce, and labor market supply.
Nevertheless, the same would require intensive preparation for the Philippines to
become equally competitive or even surpass its global competitors both in trade
and labor force. The Philippines being one of the center of such diffusion will
definitely open many opportunities to Filipinos.
Objectives
1. To find out the current trends and the demands of the different industries
which would help
to set new standards in trainings and preparation of
the academe;
2. To establish linkages with the said industries and other academic
institutions to fully equipped
the students of the necessary skills needed
in their future career; and
3. To find out other programs of the different government agencies that would
be beneficial to
our academic institution, faculty and student
development.
