INTRODUCTION: Adjustment has been defined by many psychologists. it has several meanings. In one sense it is a continual process by which a person varies his behaviour to produce a more harmonious relationship between himself and his environment, others may contribute towards his adjustment process either by helping to change the environment or by helping to change the person's outlook on his environment. Adolescents: have various problems of adjustment related to their home, health, social, emotional and other occupational problems. In the present study adjustment of adolescents has been taken into consideration58 B. Aims: The following are the aims of the present study:- 4. To find out the significant difference in different areas of adjustment between adolescent boys and girls. 2. To find out differences in different areas of adjustment among adolescents studying in Govt. and Private Schools. 3. To study interaction effects of types of schools and sex when different areas of adjustment is taken as the dependent variable separately.
