3.5.1 What are the official policy/rules of the institution for structured consultancy ?
List a few important consultancies undertaken by the institution during the last four years.
As per the management policy all social camp patient are to be provided
subsidized dental treatment and free transport. BPL card holders are provided
free dental treatment. Following are the few important camps:

3.5.3 What is the mode of publicizing the expertise of the institution for consultancy

services ? Which are the departments from whom consultancy has been sought ?
All the clinical departments of the Dental College extend Consultancy, services to
the patients as well as to the Industries. The consultancy services are advertised
through local civic bodies like Panchayat, Municipality or through local public
representatives like Counselor, MLA and teachers and their respective offices. The
consultancy service are also was published through college brochures and leaflets.

3.5.4 How does the institution utilize the expertise of its faculty with regard to

consultancy services ?
As and when patient report for treatment the expertise from the faculty
is taken as per the patients need and demand.
3.5.5 Give details regarding the consultancy services provided by the institution for

secondary and tertiary health care centers and medical / dental practitioners.
Prophylactic treatment / removal of the teeth and oral rehabilitation to cancer
patients are being provided.
Biopsy of pre cancerous and cancerous lesions is taken and diagnosis made

Extension Activities and Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR)

3.6.1 How does the institution sensitize its faculty and students on its Institutional Social
Responsibilities ? List the social outreach programs which have created an impact on students'

campus experience during the last four years.

Institute frequently emphasize the principles of code of ethics in patient


treatment as well as in research activities. The humbleness exhibited in
various social outreach programmes has paid a good dividend
and lots of such patients subject themselves to the dental treatment
willingly and voluntarily.
The following is the list of the programmes carried out by the faculty & the
students which has created has impact on the students to treat patients with
humility and empathy( for handicaps and old people) Deptt of PHD

3.6.2 How does the institution promote university-neighborhood network and


student engagement, contributing to the holistic development of students and

sustained community development ?


The College, under the supervision of the Pt. B. D. Sharma University
of Health Sciences, Rohtak contribute to the holistic development of
students by involving them in all types of activities for developing
their personalities by deputing them to participate in sports, inter
college seminar, symposium & workshops.

Student interaction with camp patients from the village and other
areas like old age home, orphanage is promoted and students are sensitized
to establish a rapport with such underprivileged patients.

3.6.3 How does the institution promote the participation of the students and faculty in
extension activities including participation in NSS, NCC, YRC and other

National/ International programs ?

The institute promotes college- neighborhood network by taking initiative
directly and through Rotary, Lions Club, Resident Welfare Association,
responding to the local oral health needs and demands of the community
balancing the network by giving due weightage to each of the activity by
providing the resources in the form of Expert manpower, Infrastructure
Support and subsidized treatment. Hence, this enhances extension activities
of the college as well as contributes to community development.

The qualifying criteria for entrance to the BDS Degree are laid down
by the State and the Statutory Body, under the order of the Honorable
Supreme Court of India. Hence intervention strategies have no role in
admission for students from rural /tribal backgrounds. However for the
weaker students institute provides additional academic facilities
to improve their standards by extra Computer and English classes.

good citizenship amongst its students and staff ? How have such initiatives

reached out to the community ?

The Faculty and students are exposed to discourses / talks by


eminent social personalities like Murari Bapu ji, Braham kumaris,
Meditation, yoga etc. to inculcate good values and social responsibilities.
In addition, The Institute also extends invitation to various members
of RWA, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Industries of Faridabad etc. to
attend and participate in these above mentioned discourses. This promotes
public private partnership thereby improving frequent interaction amongst
the Community for Social Justice and good citizenship.

3.6.11 What is the role of the institution in the following extension activities ?
Community outreach health programs for prevention, detection,
screening, management of diseases and rehabilitation by cost effective
interventions.The Institute provides strategic planning and manpower
including specialists for prevention,detection, screening, management of
diseases and rehabilitation. In addition the institute also provides logistic
support like free transport for the dental team as well as patients. In order
to achieve cost effective intervention the institute has procured
portable dental chairs and equipment to provide free treatment to the
underprivileged patients in rural setup. Community outreach health programs
also include numerous lectures and health talks on Prevention of Dental Diseases
and other health ailments like effect of Periodontal diseases on the heart diseases
diabetes and low weight pre-mature child birth.
