Description of the Site (1-2 paragraphs)

Daily Grammar is a website that provides lessons
and information about grammar. Per the site,
anyone can use this website, no matter the
demographic. It was created by Pete Peterson,
former Executive Vice President of Word Perfect,
with help from Bill Johanson who created all the
lesson plans. Johanson has thirty years of
experience in the classroom. This site is useful
for English teachers because it provides 440
lessons and 88 quizzes that could be used to
practice grammar either inside or outside the
classroom.
Read write think is a website that gives access to
free language arts materials for educators,
parents, and afterschool professionals. Almost all
the advisors and authors of the materials have
master or doctorate degrees in education. They
are also partnered with the International Literacy
Association, National Council of Teachers of
English, and The Verizon Foundation which are
all legitimate and useful in terms of the websites
subject matter. This website would be useful for
English teachers because it not only offers high
quality classroom resources, but also professional
development resources. This website is not
necessarily geared toward students use, but rather
for the educators to use in the classroom.

https://www.teachingcopyright.org/

Schoology is a social media website geared

toward educators to connect with each other to
share lesson plans, documents, and other
elements related to the classroom and teaching.
The focus is collaboration amongst educators
from all over the world to gain insight and
support in each classroom despite cultural
differences. It was created by four college
students who wanted to improve the educational
experience through communication and
collaboration for teachers and students. This
website would be helpful for any teacher because
they would have access to material from
someones firsthand experience using it.
Teaching copyright is a website that focuses
solely on the ways to teach copyright and
provides curriculum about legal rights and
responsibilities in the digital era. This website
and its resources are a project of the Electronic
Frontier Foundation which emphasizes the legal
responsibility of a citizen to know its digital
rights and laws. This curriculum is made for
younger students to educate them on their digital
rights in a more simplified and balanced form.
This website would be helpful for teachers of
younger students because we are living in a
digital age and students should be educated on
how they should be using the internet and have
an awareness.

http://www.timetoast.com/

http://www.nwp.org/

Timetoast is a website that allows anyone to

create timelines for various purposes and
outcomes. This website would be great for
student projects and would allow for students to
use technology for various subjects including
history, language arts, etc. This site was founded
by Daniel Todd who studied business
management in The Netherlands and worked as a
creative technologist in various advertising
agencies and small technology startups. The
developer does not have a direct connection to
education, however this site is good for student
projects as well as teacher presentations
involving presenting timelines.
The focus of the National Writing Project
website is to gather resources and help flourish
educators to improve writing and learning for
all learners. Since writing is a necessary skill in
education, this website is important for all
educators who wish to improve students
education. English teachers will especially
benefit from this website because of its emphasis
on writing which is a major SOL test. The NWP
is a network of sites at colleges and universities
which provide resources in these sites, but they
also extend to their website. The website then
extends their resources to schools and
communities across the nation. Overall, this
website is useful for students and teachers alike.

The Purdue Online Writing Lab is a great

resource for writing resources and instructional
material, but it is known the most for its
formatting tips and instructions. This web
resource is provided by The Writing Lab and The
OWL at Purdue University which is an esteemed
university. This resource is often used by
students and teachers as reference for formatting
academic writing and is a valuable resource in
academia. This resources main purpose is to
assist clients in their development as writers
and they execute their objective well. As a
student and potential teacher, I have used this
resource multiple times and think it is valuable
for educators to use for formatting.
The Literature Map is a website that is a part of
the Global Network of Discovery. This website is
a literature recommendation system that allows
for the user to enter in an authors name and then
from there they discover authors that are similar.
This website encourages discovery of literature
from points of interest that the user already feels
comfortable with. This website would be useful
for English teachers or even librarians to
encourage reading amongst their students. It may
not seem to be the most ground breaking website,
but it allows for apprehensive readers to find
books they may enjoy which does impact a
students wellbeing.

This web resource is The Center of Language

Education and Research (CLEAR) at
Michigan State University [which] was
established as a Language Resource Center
(LRC) through a Title VI grant from the U.S.
Department of Education. This website provides
support and resources for teaching and learning
foreign languages in the United States. They also
provide professional development opportunities
for those in the field and this helps to further the
teachers which in turn supports the students and
their education. Teachers would benefit using this
if they teach foreign language but also if they
teach ESOL, because they can use their
understanding of the foreign language to teach
English more effectively.
This web resource focuses on myths and legends
which are referenced and used in literature very
frequently. This resource is provided by East of
England Broadband Network which per their
parent site, provide[s] schools with broadband,
web-filtering, advice and guidance e-safety.
This means that at their core, they are for the
flourishing of schools in terms of technology.
This resource could be used by English teachers
in teaching about mythology which is a part of
most public-school curriculum due to its
integration in literature throughout history. This
website could also be used by students as an
aspect of at-home learning. Either way, it could
be valuable for a specific lesson plan involving

mythology and legends.
