Can you lick your own elbow?

During Thursday nights gingerbread decorating event held this past

Thursday, Riley Pattison ended up with some frosting on her elbow and
Danelle Murch caught her on camera trying her darndest to lick it off!
Nearly 30 gingerbread decorators participated in this years event held
in the basement of the First Lutheran Church, sponsored by the Valley
County MSU Extension Service and it was reported that they all had a
fun and tasty time. Also pictured are Tatum Nyquist and Sheila Nelson.
So, is it impossible to lick your elbow, as an e-mail has circulated for
years saying that it is? Well, its obviously not so impossible for some
people. Guinness World Records receives about five claims a day for
this and stresses the following point: Being able to lick your own elbow
is not, in any sense, a world record. If youre one of the rare few who
can lick your elbow, save it for the water cooler. As we can see, Riley
was close but still needs to work on this trick.

Joan Ellen Beede was

born February 25, 1950 to
Curtis and LaVerne Beede
in Glasgow, Montana. She
was the oldest of twins.
Joan grew up in
Glasgow with her three
brothers and three sisters
and attended St. Raphaels
Parochial
School
and
Glasgow High School. While
in high school, she worked at
the Fashionette. She also worked
at Beedes Mens Wear for a number of
years and Adrians. She enjoyed the retail business and helping
people. She also went on an international adventure with her
mother and friends visiting various places in Europe.

In 1973, she married Don Johnson and had two daughters,
Leslie and Lisa. Her daughters were her main focus and a great
source of joy. During this time, she started her long and brave
fight with Multiple Sclerosis. She traveled to doctors and tried
new medicine to keep the symptoms at bay, so she could enjoy
more time with her family. While her girls were young, they
spent a few years in Washington State, where she enjoyed the
Tulip farms. They returned to Glasgow where Joan did daycare
for family members. Slowly, the Multiple Sclerosis took its toll,
and in 1998 she moved to Valley View Home, where she resided
until May of 2016, when she moved to Billings Health and
Rehabilitation to be closer to her daughters and their families.
She very much enjoyed visits with her granddaughters.
Throughout her entire lifetime, Joan enjoyed music. She
had many happy memories of listening to the golden oldies with
her sister Jean. She also loved Christmas time and instilled in
her daughters the love of holiday traditions, with a deep focus
on family. Her love of the holiday never focused on the gifts,
only on the true reason for Christmas.

She is survived by three brothers: Bill (Cathy) Beede, Mick
Beede, C.T. (Aynsley) Beede; three sisters: Jeanne (Ken) Molvig,
Janet Beede, and Mary (Darrell) Morehouse; two daughters,
Leslie (Craig) Vihinen and Lisa (Cyrus) Crabtree; and three
granddaughters, Cyann Crabtree, Erynn Vihinen, and Avery
Vihinen, and many nieces and nephews.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and
LaVerne Beede, and sister-in-law Connie Beede.

A Rosary will be held Tuesday, December 20th, 2016 at 6:00
PM at St. Raphaels Parish. Services will be held on Wednesday,
December 21st, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Raphaels Parish. Burial
will follow services at Highland Cemetery with a luncheon to
follow back at the Parish Hall, all taking place in Glasgow. Bell
Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.

Two of the reasons Glasgow has jumped out to a 4-0 record on the basketball court are Scotty seniors Leinie

4-0 Scotty girls hosting a surprising Poplar Tuesday

The Scotty girls, guided by first-year Head

Coach
Travis Nielsen, have been blazing through the

competition in the early part of the schedule, knocking
off Roundup, Baker and Sidney their first three outings,
and taking care of the North Country Mavericks 50-28
in Saco this past Saturday night. The latter three games
have all been on the road.
And now they finally have a pair of games at home
right before Christmas break, playing Poplar on Tuesday
and Glendive coming to Glasgow on Thursday.
