installation (white Intumastic only).

than violet colour.

Low smoke, halogen free.
Legislation
Compartment walls and floors must maintain the appropriate level of fire resistance as laid down by
Building Regulations Approved Document B 1991. Movement joints in walls, floors and joints at the head
of walls need a product that can provide movement and at the same time provide up to 4 hours fire
integrity. Intumastic satisfies all these requirements.

Installation
1. Read the Intumastic Health & Safety instructions before starting work.
2. Check gap widths correspond to specification.
3. Insert a suitable backing material or foam backing rod to control the depth of sealant to 1:1 depth
to width ratio.
4. If necessary use masking tape each side of the joint.
5. For bare metal surfaces (such as copper or aluminium), we recommend a barrier tape (masking
tape or the like) is applied before filling the hole with mastic.
6. Cut the end of the tube and trim the nozzle to size required.
7. Force Intumastic well into the joint the backing material and sides of the joint are well covered.
8. Tool off to a good finish.
9. Remove masking tape if used.
