1. Eligibility Criteria:
Art. 1. The citizens of E.U. third countries may enrol into the Romanian national education system
provided the following:
1. They own documents providing proof of citizenship in their country of origin, proof of
personal hard currency account, as well as the required documentation for enrolment in the
Romanian education system;
2. They own study certificates issued by education institutions acknowledged in their country of
origin;
3. They filed in the enrolment documentation following the deadline provisioned in the current
Methodology;
4. They opted for an accredited state or private education institution and an accredited
specialization/ study program;
5. They have the agreement of the education institution they wish to attend to;
6. They have received the Letter of Acceptance to Study issued by the Ministry of Education and
Scientific Research;
2. Preliminary Examination Enrolment:
Art. 2. At the beginning of each calendar year, the faculties will submit to the Vice Rectors Office
for Didactic Activities a notification concerning the total number of student places assigned to
the EU third countries citizens, distributed on study field and study programs.
Art. 3. The preliminary examination of the EU third countries citizens is organised according to
the student places specifically assigned by each faculty.
2.1. The Bachelor Study Preliminary Examination
2.1.1. Specific Criteria
Art.4. There may be enrolled to the 1st cycle of Bachelor study the high school

not carry contagious diseases or suffers of a condition unsuited for the future
profession.
3. Preliminary Examination Procedure:
Art. 12. The bachelor and Master studies candidates are to submit their files to the Rectors
Office, Room B102, or scanned in digital format at the e-mail address smarian@tuiasi.ro during
the 15th June to the 20th July.
Art. 13. The candidacy files will be reviewed for compliance to the Ministry of Education and
Scientific Research requirements. The documents will be subsequently sent to the faculties one
day after the deadline expires. The files are then to enter the competition for paid places,
specifically assigned by each faculty for the non-EU candidates.
Art. 14. The faculties are to review the candidates files and enrolment forms and submit their
answers to the Vice Rectors Office for Didactic Activities within 5 days since receiving the files.
The admitted files will receive the de principiu (agreed) visa on the two copies of request form
for the Letter of acceptance to study. In the case of the rejected files, this is to be mentioned on
the request form for the Letter of acceptance to study.
Art. 15. The files having the de principiu (agreed) resolution are to be submitted to the Ministry
of Education and Scientific Research for the Letter of acceptance to study to be issued.
The Letter of acceptance to study is the mandatory final document required to study in Romania.
Art. 16. Subsequently receiving the resolution of the Ministry of Education and Scientific
Research, the university is to notify the candidate regarding the acceptance or rejection of
his/her request to study at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi.
Art. 17. The candidates receiving the favourable Letter of acceptance to study are to file a
statement on their intent to continue the admission/ registration procedure and their agreement
to be enrolled at Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi starting on the 1st of October. The
statement, dated and signed by the candidate, is to be sent scanned in digital format to the email address smarian@tuiasi.ro.
Art. 18. The candidates not filing the statement mentioned at the Art. 17. are losing their contest
assigned place.
3.1. Studies in English
Art. 19. Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi offers the following study programs in
English:
1. Bachelor studies:
- Civil Engineering - the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Building Services;
- Telecommunication Systems and Technologies the Faculty of Electronics,
Telecommunication and Information Technology; Industrial Design the Faculty of
Textiles, Leather and Industrial Management.
2. Master studies:
- Systems and Control the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Engineering
- Distributed Systems and WEB Technologies the Faculty of Automatic Control and
Computer Engineering
- Environmental Management and Sustainable Energy the Faculty of Chemical
Engineering and Environmental Protection
- Structural Engineering - the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Building Services
Art. 20. The candidates choosing a study program in English are to follow the steps as described
in Articles 12 to 18, in order to be admitted.
Art. 21. The admitted candidates are to pass an English language test organized by the University.
The candidates holding an international acknowledged language skill certificate, as well as the
candidates from the countries where the official language is English are to be exempted from the
test.
