This lesson plan aims to teach 5th grade students about the difference between kidding and harmful teasing through reading a book and class activities. Students will be divided into small groups to read Just Kidding and answer comprehension questions about the story. They will then complete a worksheet to distinguish between kidding and harmful teasing by going through examples as a class. The goal is for students to create positive relationships and make informed decisions about appropriate social interactions through critically exploring joking behaviors.
