Two Port Parameters for Standard

Networks - GATE Study Material in PDF

In the previous notes, we were given an introduction on two port parameters. These
free GATE Notes helps you to write the Two Port Parameters for Standard Networks
without writing all the voltage and current relations. These GATE Study Notes are
important from the point of view of GATE EC, GATE EE, IES, DRDO, BARC, BSNL and
other exams. You can have all these study material downloaded in PDF so that your
GATE preparation is made easy and you can ace your exam. Make sure to go through the
basics before you start reading this article though.

ZB + ZC

i. It is a reciprocal network ( Z12 = Z21)

ii. It is a symmetric network if ZA = ZB ( Z11 = Z22)

Note:
i. In a transformer the secondary current should flows into the load i.e. current
direction is opposite to the standard two port current I2 direction.
ii. Z-parameters and Y-parameter are not defined for transformer network.

Note:
All these two port parameters are valid only for lumped circuits but not for distributed
circuits.
In the next article we will see the conversion from one two port parameter to another
two port parameter.
