A Note from Mr. Field:

Dear Parents,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at our
holiday concert last week! It was a great time to
celebrate all of our students' hard work preparing
for this big day! Thank you as well for all of the
treats, crafts, donations for families and special
presents during this holiday season! Our staff feels
so supported and appreciated! Thank you for
partnering with us and modeling a real-life,
tangible example of our "better together" school
theme.
On behalf of our staff, I'd like to wish your family a
wonderful relaxing holiday break! We can't wait to
see your children back on Tuesday, January 3rd!

Park Music Notes

A huge thank you to the Park staff and teachers for their time
and effort in making the 2016 Holiday Concert such a great
experience for our students. What a great learning experience
for our students!
Also, for anyone that did not get a Holiday Concert Program
and would like one, please send me an email and I will
forward the program to you as a PDF.
We will be kicking off the new year with our Kindergarten
and 1st grade students by learning several new songs, and
playing songs on boomwhackers (different length tubes that
play notes) and rhythm instruments.
Our 2nd and 3rd graders will be working on rhythm and
music reading skills with new songs. We will also be
introducing movement and dance to music.
Our 4th Grade students are excited to be working on their
LinkUp performance with the West Michigan Symphony in
April. This is a children's concert event where they will sing
and play recorder on several songs while the Symphony
Orchestra plays with them.
In addition to continuing their study of ukulele, our 5th Grade
students will be preparing for their visit to DeVos Hall in
February for a Young Person's Concert with the Grand Rapids
Symphony Orchestra.
Thank you to the Park Community for your ongoing support
of our students. As always, if you have any questions please
don't hesitate to contact Mr. Sheckler at:

Have a wonderful weekend,

Student Drop off Policy:

For the safety of our Park students we ask that you
drop off your child by the front of the school in the
morning. DO NOT drop off your child by the bus
loop or by the Administration Building. There is an
excessive amount of traffic and buses on that side
of the building that time of day that makes it unsafe
for your child to be dropped off there. Thank you for
your cooperation.

Mr. Sheckler

2016 Holiday Concert DVDs are still

available in the office for $15.
Please make checks payable to
WCET.

Remember to save those bottles and

cans for the 5th grade can drive
competition starting Jan.3!

unclaimed / unlabeled items.
