ThefollowingguidelinesareforstudentswhoareinterestedtoparticipateintheWork&Travel
(WNT)inUSAorothercountries:

I.EligibilityofStudents:
TheWorkNTravelprogrammesareopentoallstudentsexceptforthosewhoareparticipatinginNTUs
creditbasedInternshipProgrammes(seenote)duringAY15/16Semester2orSpecialTerm(MaytoJuly
2016)andAY16/17Semester1(startinginJuly/August2016).

ScholarshiprecipientsoftheASEAN,PRC,SembCorp,SIANOLandNTUScienceandEngineering
UndergraduateScholarshipareallowedtoparticipateinonlyONEOverseasProgramme(canbestudy,
attachmentetc.)conductedduringeithersemester1or2inanyyearofstudyexceptintheirfinal
year.Thisrestrictiondoesnotapplytooverseasprogrammesconductedduringvacationtimeinany
yearofstudyexceptintheirfinalyear.Scholarshiprecipientsintheirfinalyearofstudyarenotto
participateinanyOverseasProgrammeregardlessifitisconductedduringtermtimeornot.

Note:NTUcreditbasedInternshipProgrammesincludeIndustrialAttachment(IA)/EnhancedIndustrial
Attachment/InternationalResearchAttachment/IndustrialOrientation/IndustrialImmersion/IndustrialInternship
Programme/NBS&HSSProfessionalAttachment/ProfessionalInternship/ADMInternship/SSMInternship)

II.Adviceforstudents:

1. AsWNTisnotmanagedbyNTU,pleaseunderstandthetermsandconditionsbeforeyousign
anycontractwiththeexternalagencies.
2. Pleaseobserveandfollowsafetyguidelinesprovidedbyexternalagencieswhenparticipatingin
WNT.
3. StudentshavetoensurethattheirparticipationinWNTdoesnotaffecttheirstartdateandend
dateoftheirofficialattachment/internshipprogrammes,ifapplicable.
4. FinalyearstudentsareremindedtoreturnfromWNTontimeforconvocationwhichis
scheduledforlateJuly2016.
5. Fornonfinalyearstudents,pleaseensurethatyoucompleteWNTandreturnbeforetermstarts
inAugustAY16/17.
6. NTUdoesnotprovideloanorsubsidyfortheseprogrammeswhicharenotofferedbythe
university.Youmaywanttoexplorewiththevendorsonthepaymentarrangement.
