Quad-Copter Challenge
Title event of ROBOLUTION-2016

Now-a-days quad-copter is used in many sectors, like agricultural research, sites survey, rescue
mission, security purpose even in filmography. Strong control and knowledge over it, can lead us
to greater and successful applications of quad-copter. So to inspire this, we introduce quadcopter challenge as our title event of this competition.

Rules:

Any team can have at most 6 members.

Each team must register online.
Before the event the registration fee must be paid.
Participants must come to the premises 1 hour before the inauguration ceremony.
If the quad-copter faces any difficulty due to wind during flight, it may restart from the
last checkpoint.
The copter must complete the track within a fixed time.
The decision of jury board will be final in any case.

Marks Distribution:

30 points will be awarded for handmade chassis.

10 points will be awarded by the judges for perfect balancing of the copter.
The track will have nylon net as walls on both sides.
Quad-copter has to fly through the track within the net wall.
In case the quad-copter touches the net wall or any of the obstacles 20 marks will be
deducted.

Robo-fight
Overview:
This document outlines the requirements for any team that intends to build a fighter bot and
compete in the Robo-fight. The following rules have been made to be as unrestrictive to the botbuilding process as possible while balancing all competitors, arena damage, event-scheduling
issues and the safety of everyone involved including participants and audience.

Basic Construction of BOT:

1. Mobility: A Bot can be a walker, roller, hopper, flier or whatever, as long as it moves
around in a controlled manner without causing damage to the arena and harming the
audience.
2. Communication: The bot can be controlled via only wireless communication (Bluetooth,
Wi-Fi, remote control etc.). But one must have reliable control over all of his/ her bots
functions and positions. Autonomous functions in the bot are acceptable, provided
remotely disabling or overriding those functions at any time should be possible.
3. Weapon: The bot must have at least one fighting weapon. But use of fire, any kind of
liquid, chemical substances, radio activated substances or any throwing of materials are
extremely prohibited.
4. Dimension: The dimension of bot must not exceed a certain dimension (length 45 cm,
width 45 cm, height 30 cm)
5. Weight: The weight must not exceed 10 kg. It can be any value within 10kg.
6. Power: The bot can be battery powered. Externally providing power via wires is
extremely prohibited.

Rules:
1.
2.
3.
4.

One team can have maximum 5 members.

In the time of robo-fight only 2 members will be able to stay in the arena.
Each team must register online.
Before the event the registration fee must be paid.

5. Participants must come to the premises 1 hour before the inauguration ceremony.
6. The bot must start from entrance.

Game Style:
There will be total 4 rounds. They are,
1. Group Stage: Participants will be divided into a number of groups. Number of groups
and number of participants in each group will be decided after the registration.
2. Quarter final: This will be a three bot round. Only one will be qualified for next round.
4 bot will be qualified for final round.
3. Semi Final: This will also be a one-to-one round. Only one will be qualified for next
round.
4. Final: Total 2 team will be fighting with each other.

There will be arrangement of automatic square holes and obstacle in the arena.
The battle will be for 2.30 min.
First 30 sec will be no holes or obstacle in the arena.
Next 50 sec there will be an obstacle automatically rising in the arena.
Next 40 sec the obstacle will dissolve and 2 holes will be created in the arena.
Last 30 sec again the arena will be normal as before with no holes, no obstacle.

Marks Distribution:
1. If a robot drives out the opponent robot from the arena then it will be rewarded with 50
points.
2. If a robot flips over the opponent robot, it will get 30 points.
3. If a robot disables the opponent robot then it will get 30 points.
4. A robot can hit (via a weapon) another robot and for every hit which is clearly
appeared to the judge will get 10 points.
5. If a robot falls down by itself though there is no force applied by the others then 10
points will be deducted.

6. If a robot falls down in a hole 20 points will be deducted. If a robot drives a robot to
that hole, 20 points will be rewarded. 10 points will be rewarded if the robot get itself out from
the hole by itself.

Project Showcasing
This project showcasing will be consisted of 2 sections. One section involves university students.
And another section involves college students. We want to inspire innovation and new ideas that
can really incur change in our current technology as well as development in our daily life. Also
we are encouraging projects that can be good solution to many common problems of our country.

Section: University
This section is only for university students. It consists of 2 categories.

Category 1:
Any kind of project is acceptable. It can be based on robotics, automation, electronics anything.
It can represent any topic or any solution to a problem. As our main event promotes robotics, its
proper and innovative application and automation will be appreciated.
Top 2 teams will be awarded.

Category 2:
The main motivation behind this category is our intension to solve some most prominent
problems of this country. The problem which we have selected is pollution. It can be any kind of
pollution, such as, water pollution, air pollution, sound pollution and so on. The participant team
has to work on at least one problem. The project should suggest a proper solution to that
particular problem. It must be environment friendly. To solve these problems, proper application
of robotics and automation will be appreciated.
Top 2 teams will be awarded.

Section: College
This section is only for college students. It also consists of 2 categories.

Category 1:
Any kind of project is acceptable. It can be based on robotics, automation, electronics, science
based anything. It can represent any topic or model of a proposed idea. Because our main event
promotes robotics, its proper and innovative application and automation will be much
appreciated.

Category 2:
We want to dedicate this category to one of the best scientists of 20th century, Sir Jagedish
Chandra Bose.
In this category one team has to demonstrate a model or make a project based on or part of the
lifelong research work and inventions done by Sir Bose. This project or model must represent a
relation with his research work. It will be disqualified if the judges fail to find that relation.

Rules and regulation (for both sections):

1)
2)
3)
4)
5)

Each team may have maximum 4 members.

Each team must register online.
Before the event the registration fee must be paid.
Participants must come to the premises 1 hour before the inauguration ceremony.
In category 2, if the judges fail to find the required relation, then the project or model will
be disqualified.

Project Evaluation:
It will be based on the idea representing the project. Also the project construction, principle,
features presentation will also be evaluated.
The judges will have the final decision.

complete the task together. They have to do it with a definite time fixed which will be
declared on the event day. The bot will collect the most points within the shortest
possible time will be selected. Details of the selection round, which will be planned based
on the number of participants, will be given to the participants 4 days before the event
day.
3. After the selection round 5 bot will be selected for final round.
4. In the final 5 bot will complete the track separately. The bot, which will complete the
track in the shortest time possible with highest points, will be the winner. There will also
be a runner up.

Science and Tech. Inspired Artwork Competition

We believe many great ideas that shape the very core existence of our civilization, came from the
great minds of the artists. Before any extraordinary invention, an extraordinary idea is a must,
and that is greatly dependent on ones imagination. In this segment, we want to inspire those
ideas which carry a great imaginative power and a great science & technological aspects.

Rules:
One participant can send only send one cartoon.
The dimension should be within the dimension of A4 paper.
The submission should be online. Send the PSD/JPEG/EPS file online through mail.
(roboticsclub.mist@gmail.com)
