FreeGoodsDetermination

Inmanysectorsofindustryitiscommontoprovideproductsfreeofcharge,ornottochargethecustomerforsomeofthegoodssoldwhenacustomerpurchasescertaingoods.
TwotypesoffreegoodsexistinSAP.Theyare
1.Inclusivefreegoods.
2.Exclusivefreegoods.
Inclusivefreegoodsagreement:
Thecustomerpaysonlyforapartofthegoodsrequired.Therestofthegoodsareforfree.Thisiscalledinclusivefreegoodswhichmeanthatpartofthepurchasedquantityisdesignatedasfree
andnotbilled.Theunitofmeasurefortheinclusivefreegoodsissameasthepurchasedquantity.
e.g.:ofthetenbottlesofwineorderedtwoaredesignatedasfreegoods.Ifweordertenbottlesofwinethentenbottlesofwinesaredeliveredtousasorderedbutwearebilledonlyfortheeightbottlesand
twobottlesaregivenasfree.Wehavereceivedinclusivefreegoods.
Exclusivefreegoodsagreement:
Thecustomerpaysforthegoodsorderedandreceivessomeadditionalgoods.Thisisknownasexclusivefreegoodsandmeansthatfreegoodsisgrantedforanadditionalquantitytothatinthepurchase
order.Moreisdeliveredthanwasorderedandtheadditionalquantityisnotbilled.Thegoodsdeliveredasfreedonothavetobethesameasthematerialordered.
e.g.:Whenfourcoffeemachinesareordered,thevendorsuppliesapacketofcoffeeasfreegoods.Therefore,ifweorderfourcoffeemachines,wereceiveafreepacketofcoffee.ConditionTechnique:

Aconditiontabledefinesthecombinationoffields(thekey)thatidentifiesanindividualconditionrecord.

conditiontablesareplacedinaccesssequenceisimportant.Generallyitismostspecifictomostgeneric.

ThepricingprocedureforthefreegoodsshouldcontaintheconditiontypeR100whichisthefreegoodsconditiontype.Thisconditiontypeinthepricingprocedurehasrequirementas55andbase

55meansonlyiftheitemisFreeGoodsthenonlyvalueofR100tobeusedinCalculation.Value=ControlledbyALTConditionBaseValue28whichstatesthatdiscountshouldbe100%.

Minqty:ThisistheminimumQuantitywhichshouldbeorderedsothattheorderiseligibleforfreegoods
From:Fromgivethequantityafterwhichthefreegoodswillbegiven.
Arefreegoods:Thisnumbershowsthenumberofquantitywhichshouldbegivenasfreegoodstothecustomer
e.g.:letusassumeminqtyismaintainedas1000andfromvalueis100andarefreegoodsvalueis10.
Ifthecustomerplacestheorderfor1200,sincetheorderedqtyismorethantheminqty(1000)thecustomerwillget10qtyasfreeforevery100qty.i.e.thecustomerwillreceive120qtyasfreeandis
billedonlyfor1080qty.
Calculationrule:ThisRuleTellthatonwhatbasistheamountoffreegoodswhicharetobegiventothecustomer.TheCalculationRulecanbeanyofthefollowing

IntheexclusivefreegoodsdeterminationonlyonefielddiffersfromtheInclusivefreeGoodsDeterminationandthatisAdditionalMaterialforfreeGoods:Itisthematerialwhichisdifferentfromthe
originalmaterialandisgivenasafreegoodE.g.Acustomerbuys100booksandgetsapencilboxfree.
Freegoodshavethefollowinglimitations:
1.Freegoodscanonlybesupportedona1:1ratio.Thismeansthatanorderitemcanleadtoafreegoodsitem.Agreementsinthefollowingformarenotsupported:'Withmaterial1,material2and
material3arefreeofcharge'or'Ifmaterial1andmaterial2areorderedatthesametime,thenmaterial3isfreeofcharge'.
2.Freegoodsarenotsupportedincombinationswithmaterialstructures(forexample,productselection,BOM,variantswithBOMexplosion).
3.FreegoodsareonlysupportedforsalesorderswithdocumentcategoryC(forexample,notquotations).
4.Freegoodsarenotsupportedfordeliverieswithoutreferencetoasalesorder.
5.Freegoodscannotbeusedinmaketoorderproduction,thirdpartyorderprocessingandschedulingagreements.
6.Ifyoudefinedafreegoodsforvariantsinagenericarticle(onlySAPRetail),youcanonlyprocessthevariantsinthepurchaseorderandgoodsreceiptindividually(assinglearticles).Inotherwords,
youcannotprocessthemusingthegenericarticlematrix
