22 The parties respectfully request that the Court extend the page limit under Local
23 Rule LRCiv 7.1(b)(1) for motions from eleven (11) to fourteen (14) pages for the parties’
24 respective replies in support their motions for summary judgment, which are due on
25 Monday, May 12, 2008.
26 The request for the extension is made because with the addition of eight pages to
27 the previously-filed responses, it is very difficult to address the complex nature of the
28 many issues raised by the parties in the response and underlying facts presented. The
 1 parties have made a serious effort to minimize the pages necessary for response, but feel
2 that if the responses are reduced any further, whole sections of the important content in
3 the replies may have to be deleted. The parties believe the request for three additional
4 pages is not excessive or unreasonable.

6 WHEREFORE, the parties jointly request that this Court enter the proposed Order
7 filed concurrently herewith to extend the page limits for replies in support of the parties’
8 summary judgment motions to fourteen (14) pages.
