Details of work on which the member has been employed during this report,
including significant achievements and challenges faced.
A. Work accomplished:
1) DATANET
a. Purchase and stores system for NCBS [Collaborator: Sandeep Verma, Anju
gopalkrishan, Raj khot]
We modified purchase and stores system as per suggested by NCBS
Bangalore. I also gave demo of purchase and stores system to NCBS staff
many times. Following enhancement has been done
1. Prepared separate screen for consolidation PO
2. All reports has been changed as per NCBS format.
3. Upload around 2 lack catalog items for pre indent
4. Prepared work order report for NCBS
5. Added email facility to indentor when PO dispatch
6. Prepared quotation recommendation screen
7. Design screen where all indents can be seen year wise
8. Facility has been added to assign indent to purchase staff once it is
approved.
9. Redesign enquiry screen, so it will be useful both NCBS and TIFR staff
b. Salary report on Datanet [Collaborator: Sandeep Verma, Jayesh barot]
Earlier salary reports were generated by oracle application server
script. ISDG head decided to integrate on datanet. We have implemented
salary file generator module on datanet and email sent to handle by salary
person. In this module salary authority can generate salary file and view
generated file on datanet. All RPT reports are migrated into jasper reports.
Provision to export report into excel has been provided.
c. Management of stock items for TSR department [Collaborator: Kamal Shaw]
Previously electrical section in TSR department, manually keep records for
their stock items. We develop a module for TSR section for management of
stock items. TSR staff can also issue stock items to any staff in TSR with help of
this software. TSR staff can also generate various reports for stock items.
d. Work order management module for TSR [Collaborator: Kamal Shaw]
TSR section requests us to develop a module for management for work
orders raise by user. We already had similarly module running for central
workshop. So we extend this work order management module for TSR. It has
facility for assigning work orders among supervisor. Supervisor can update work
order and can generate various reports.
e. Disposal module [Collaborator: Kamal shaw, Anju gopalkrishan]

Earlier user need to fill form manually for disposal of any item and submit
in stores section. It was time consuming job as user needs to visit stores for
every disposal.
Hence we developed a disposal system where user can place an online request
for disposal. Concern authority will approve request and there after stores can
process request. Stores can also generate various reports required for disposal
process. Facility has been provided to place transfer request for items which are
pending for disposal.
f. Provision to cancel cash purchase request to accounts head
In earlier system cancellation facility for cash purchase request was not
provided. Once cash purchase request has been processed by stores section, user
was not able to cancel it (if by mistake request was related to repair and
maintains). Hence now we added this facility and access has been given to
accounts head.
g. Complaint management system for TIFR hostel [Collaborator: Kamal shaw]
TIFR hostel representative requests us to develop a module for
management for complaints raise by student about room. We already had
similarly module running for central workshop. So we extend this module for
TIFR hostel. It has facility for assigning complaints among maintenance staff.
Hostel in charge and maintains staff can generate various reports.
h. Export items list from excel file while placing indent [Collaborator: Kamal
shaw]
Previously users need to enter all items nowise in online indent form while
placing an indent. Now we have added facility to export item list from excel file
while placing an online indent.
2] Finance module
a. Bank letter to vendor for local bills
Previously account staff manually writes letter to vendor for bill clearance,
bill details etc and then send an email. I developed a report where they can enter
voucher number and a details report will be generated by system automatically.
All details about voucher and vendor will be fetching from database.
B. Work in Progress:
a. Migration for D2K application into web-based architecture
Last year we migrate purchase and stores module into web based system
from java swing application. In same line we are planning to migrate all d2k
application like finance, budget, payroll, inventory to web base (MVC
architecture).

b. AMC for equipment

Currently users need to fill form to place an AMC request for any
equipment. All process is also still in manually fashion where stores staff
maintain register and prepare PO.
We are planning to develop software for same requirement. Here user will place
an online AMC request, PI will approve and system will automatically generate
PO by having some validations.
c. Online stock item issue system
Currently users manually fill form for requesting stock item and take
approval from authority. We are planning to design online stock item issue
system.
C. Miscellaneous:

Helped NCBS Bangalore staff for smooth running of Purchase and Stores module.
Reset datanet password for user.
Upload files on datanet as and when required.
Change user email address as per request.
Generated various reports such as list of staff in grade pay
5400,4800,4600,2000,1800,with there last promotion dates, list of staff in grape
pay 5400 in colaba campus and other TIFR centers, total regular employee count
with grade pay wise ,list of pay-scales in TIFR etc. required by establishment,
account section.
I made various report related RTI queries.
Solved OAS users complain regarding OAS set up, rep2excel, Abode PDF
installation etc.
Enhanced some purchase reports as per requested by purchase section.
I helped cashiers to solve problem related to canteen system.
A screen has been prepared in inventory module to display rfid tag and untag data
year wise.
