INTENT
The main intent/aim of doing this project is to understand the roles and
responsibilities of a finance department in PRATIK AUTOMOBILES PV. LTD. The
activities expected from a finance department depend largely on how much
involvement the owner/manager has in the organization. At the base level,
the finance department is responsible for day to day transactional
accounting of the business. The finance department in this organization is
also responsible for management of the organisations cashflow and ensuring
that there are enough funds available to meet the day to day payments. It is
also concerned with forecasting the ongoing cash requirements of the
business. The project helps us to understand how a companys finance
Department tries to improve their business by keeping good relations with
employees.
This area also encompasses the credit and collection policies for the
companys customers, to ensure that the employees of this company are
paid on time. Finance department is also responsible for advising and
sourcing long term financing.
This project is a means to appreciate the nitty-gritty involved in employees
relationship with their organization and employers. It helps me understand
how organizations keep constant check on the availability of fund so as to
run their business smoothly.
Last but not the least, this project, shows through how different department
works in co-ordination with each other, so as to keep their employees and
other associates happy.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The Finance Department is one of the most important profit centers in any dealership. A business
manager has responsibilities to the dealership as well as to the customer and must have a
thorough understanding of these duties to achieve success. The research will be helpful in
understanding the current position of the respective company and provide some strategies to the
extent of employees satisfaction with insights which is based on the financial activities of the
company.
This research can be further used to evaluate the facilities provided by the management towards
the employees. This study also helps in understanding the responsibility of a finance manager in
a dealership that will ensure both profit maximization.

Training and providing the sales team with information on finance and
lease programs and the benefits of the dealerships financing and
extended service programs.
Finance manager also works with financial lenders to give fair interest
rate to buyers. As with all positions within dealerships, finance
managers are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards.
The role also requires strong communication skills in order to work with
customers, employees and finance and insurance vendors as they
represent the dealership.

MEANING
Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problem. It maybe
Understood as science of studying how research is done scientifically. The basic task of research
is to generate accurate information used in decision making.
1. Analytical Research:
It uses facts or information already available and has to prepare Research report on the
basis of analytical work.
2. Descriptive Research:
Descriptive research is based on description of facts. The main purpose of descriptive
research is description of state of affairs as exist at present.
DATA COLLECTION METHOD:1. PRIMARY DATA: - Most of the information will be gathered through primary sources. The
methods that will be used to collect primary data are books, newspaper, websites, etc.
2. SECONDARY DATA: - Financial Consultants, Interviews, Questionnaire, etc

METHOD OF SAMPLING:The technique used for conducting the study was Convenience Sampling Technique as sample of
respondents was chosen according to convenience.
DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION:Classification and Tabulation transforms the raw data collected through questionnaire in to useful
information by organizing and compiling the data contained in each questionnaire i.e.,
observation and reponses are converted into orderly statistics used to organize and analyze the
data.

It is a non-comparative scale. This scale is used to measure attitudes & behavior. It is
usually a balanced scale and has typically five descriptors: strongly agree, agree, neither

FINDINGS
The finance department allots the required amount of fund as and when required to carry
out their particular activities in pratik automobiles pvt.ltd.
The Finance manager's job is to secure each sale and ensure that every vehicle sold is
delivered.
The Finance manager secures acceptable financing for customers and establishes better
lender relations.
There is proper co-ordination among various departments.
The Finance manager is responsible for all paperwork involved with the sale of the
vehicle. This means obtaining customer signatures on all necessary forms and also
obtaining payoff and insurance information.

SUGGESTIOND AND CONCLUSIONS
SUGGESTIONS:-
For the better functioning of the department based on the findings of the present
study, the following suggestions may be considered:-
There should be proper cooperation among the management and employees of the
organization which in turn will increase sense of belongingness
The Finance manager should explain to the salespeople the importance of the payoff and
insurance information and to provide training to the salespeople to ensure the information
is gathered accurately and quickly.
Many salespeople don't understand the process of working. It is the managers job to train
and educate the salespeople with regard to the inner workings of the department, the
benefits of the protective products offered in the department, and the role that salespeople
play in the success of the department.
One of the best ways to accomplish this is for the manager is to be actively involved in
sales and training meetings at the dealership on a regular basis.
It is impossible to measure the success of the F&I department if performance is not
monitored. Successful F&I managers provide progress reports on a daily basis to the
dealer, general manager, and/or general sales manager.
In addition, at the end of the month, the F&I manager will complete an end-of-the-month
summary to see how well the objectives for the month were met compared to the monthly
forecast.
The best way to know the employees responsibilities is to have a written job description.
If there is any confusion as to a particular duty, then put it in writing and have the
management team agree on whose responsibility it is.

CONCLUSIONS:-
From the study, it is clear the process of workings of finance department in this company, is
good. This research highlights some of the small gaps in employees satisfaction towards
company. The F&I Department is one of the most important profit centers in any dealership. A
business manager has responsibilities to the dealership as well as to the customer and must have
a thorough understanding of these duties to achieve success.
