3 miles, approximately 2 hours, easy hike. Hike from the Interpretive Center to the George Rogers Clark home site on the
Ohio River Greenway. Learn about the Ohio River, The Falls, George Rogers Clark and the Greenway project as we go.

1.5 mile jaunt, approximately 1 hour. Get your new year started with a challenge! Explore the park and possible ice shelf
formation. Hike ends with a fire and healthy snacks for participants.

1.5 mile, approximately 2-3 hours. Smokey Bear, hot cocoa and snacks will be provided after the hike.

A non-competitive (untimed) trail run/walk through forest and field. Participants have their choice of a 3.5 4.5 mile
course through fields and forests, or a 1.5 - 2 mile short course through the woods. Preregistration is $15 Deadline is
December 30. Preregistration includes a post-event hors doeuvres buffet at the Fourwinds Lakeside Inn. First 300 people to
preregister receive a commemorative patch and a $15 gift certificate for the restaurants at the Fourwinds Lakeside Inn.
Same-day registration is $15 and includes the post-event hors doeuvres buffet at the Fourwinds Lakeside Inn.

.75 mile, approximately 1 hour. Stroll along an easy illuminated trail to the Great Mound. Hot beverages provided.

1 mile, approximately 1 hour. Walk with Forest and Gump & Garth and Gracie, the resident oxen and donkeys of OBannon
Woods. Great photo opportunity. After, enjoy refreshments at the nature center. Weather and road conditions dependent.
Ouabache

40 minute easy stroll around the bison pen, followed by a 1 mile long trail. Learn a little about these amazing creatures.
Patoka

Nature Center
.75 mile, approximately 1 hour. Hike along the scenic Garden Rock Loop trail while sipping a warm cup of hot cocoa.
Pokagon
1.5 miles, approximately 1.5 hours. Binoculars and check lists will be provided while supplies last. The hike will circle
through a variety of habitats down to Lake James and then around the Saddle barn, ending at the toboggan run fire ring.
Roast marshmallows and enjoy the fire from 12pm-1pm. Everyone welcome including all ages, birders, non-birders.
Potato Creek
Nature Center
1-2 miles, approximately 90 minutes. Winter adventure looking for tracks and burrows, checking out the lake and
searching for wildlife. Bring snowshoes if there is snow (there will be a few pairs to share.) Afterwards, the celebration
continues indoors. With cocoa with the birds and more! Check the park calendar.
Prophetstown

2 miles, approximately 90 minutes. Bring binoculars if you have them. Warm drinks will be provided.
Raccoon Lake

1.5 miles, approximately 1 hour. Boots and long pants are a must as there will be some off trail wandering for small parts
of the hike. This hike will highlight some of the remains of pre-park structure.
Salamonie

1 mile. Stroll through the historical efforts of the CCC and enjoy winters wonder.
Shades

Dell Shelter
1 mile, 1 hour hike will be beautifully lit in the early evening darkness. Hot cocoa, water and snacks will be provided.
Shakamak

3/4 mile, approximately 45 minutes. In conjunction with the Friends of Shakamak, the park will be offering hot cocoa,
coffee, and an assortment of snacks. There will also be entertainment for all ages to follow the hike, located inside the
Group Camp Mess Hall, at approximately 3pm.
Spring Mill
2.5 miles, approximately 2 hours. After, hot cocoa and coffee in the Lakeview Activity Center, courtesy of the Spring Mill Inn.
Summit Lake

.75 mile, approximately 1 hour. 11:30 am indoor activity for kids, 12:00 pm - Hike. Hike .75 mile along a grassy, mowed
path. Coffee, hot cocoa and donuts available.
Tippecanoe River
Fire Tower
The length of the ride or hike is up to the participant. It varies from .2 to a 2-7 mile ride/hike. The fire tower is normally
closed in the winter, but for this special hike the stairs will be cleaned and the fire tower opened for first day hikers!
Turkey Run
1.2 mile, 1 hour hike, moderately rugged. After, Hot cocoa and snacks will be provided.
Versailles

4 miles, approximately 3 hours. Sturdy hiking boots, water and hiking sticks are a plus. Well-behaved and leashed dogs welcome.
2.5 mile Memorial Loop Trail, approximately 1.5 hours. After, enjoy hot cocoa around a warm fire.
