How many ways are there to

knit in a small circle? Double
pointed needles, two circular
needles, and magic loop with
one long circular needle are
the three most popular, but
there are at least 2 other ways.
Come test them all with us during this free demo.

This piece is a shoulder cozy and cowl in one.

Choose two colors of Noro Silk Garden or
Kureyon. One should be neutral and one should
be colorful. Brick Stitch is a colorwork pattern
that uses only one yarn at a time. The neutral
yarn will become the outlines, or mortar, and the
colorful one will become the bricks. The illusion
of windows of color will be created through the
use of slip stitches.

Clogs are knit XXXL size in wool and then run through the washing
machine to shrink the wool into a tight, firm fabric. Susan will share
her tips and tricks to help you keep track of the wrap and turns and
increases that create the clog shaping. There are size options for
every family member. Every new pair that Susan creates has a new
element of creativity. She'll show you how to use needle felting
to add a name, a flower, a soccer ball, a snowman, snowflake, or
whatever embellishment you want. You can even add a jester fringe
to the cuff for a real touch of whimsey.

Most of the time we dont want holes in our knitting. But sometimes
we do want to make holes just for the fun and the art of it. Most
holey patterns involve breaking and restarting yarn. This makes for
many tails to be worked in--the bane of most knitters. Cornelia Tuttle
Hamilton has perfected a technique which allows you to work with one
continuous strand. Youll learn her geometric openwork method for
making square and triangular holes while making practice swatches.
You can decide if you want to make any of the projects that use this
technique or whether you just want to enjoy a day learning this technique for the fun of it. There will be a small amount of homework
before class.

Brioche knitting is a special kind of ribbed fabric that creates

a spongy, open texture. Well spend the first part of class
getting to know brioche basics. After we get comfortable
with the basic fabric, well move on to the beautiful Willow
design on the cover of Nancy Marchants book, Fresh
Knitted Brioche. This scarf / shawl uses increases and

Knit Beginner Project

Learn to knit by making swatches of basic stitches.

Emphasis is placed on learning to read your stitches
so that you can become a confident knitter. Class
also includes a taste of lace and cables.

This hat and scarf combination gives

graduates of our Knitting for Beginners class
opportunity to practice and polish their basic
skills. Youll learn to use circular and double
pointed needles while making the hat. The hat
will also be your introduction to multi gauge
patterns, which allow you to make the same
