Important Agreements/ MoU Signed/ Deals: India & Abroad

1. India and Kyrgyzstan sign 6 agreements - Tourism, cooperation in youth

exchange, Youth development, Agriculture and Food Industry, Broadcasting and
exchange of audio visual programmes.
2. India and Indonesia have signed three agreements in various areas to enhance
strategic partnership.
3. The Union Cabinet has given its approval to Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
between India and United Kingdom (UK) to support Ease of Doing Business in
India.
4. India and Qatar have signed five agreements including in the field of visas,
cyberspace and investments.
5. The Union Cabinet has approved Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between
India and Afghanistan on cooperation in the peaceful uses of outer space.
6. India and Tajikistan have signed four agreements in areas including on double
taxation avoidance, money laundering and counter-terrorism.
7. During the Prime Ministers 3 Days Visit To Japan
Prime Minister Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe inked a Memorandum of
understanding (MoU) in the field of civil nuclear deal and nine other agreements
in various fields.
8. India, Sri Lanka sign MoU to support fishermen in Hambantota district of Sri Lanka.
9. India along with 10 other member countries of WHO's South-East Asian Regional
Committee decided to set up a dedicated fund aimed at building preparedness for
health emergencies in the Sri Lanka.
10. India, Greece sign Air Services Agreement under Open Sky Policy - India
signed the bilateral Air Services Agreement with Greece to allow unlimited points of call
for domestic airlines in Greece.
11. India, Egypt sign agreement in area of Maritime Transport
12. India and the United States signed Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement
(LEMOA). The logistics agreement will enable the forces of the two nations to use each
others bases for repair and replenishment of supplies.
13. World Bank to provide $1 bn for India solar projects - The World Bank on
Thursday committed USD 1 billion (about 625 million or Rs 6,750 crore) to support solar
energy programme in India, which is reducing dependence on conventional energy
sources to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
14. India & Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a 100 million dollars loan
agreement for irrigation

projects, drainage system and water management in Vennar sub-basin of Cauvery

delta in Tamil Nadu.
15. Bangladesh & India signed an agreement for the construction of a 1,320
megawatt (MW) coal fired power plant near Sundarbans.
16. Agreement between India & Tanzania in the field of Traditional Systems of
Medicine and Homeopathy
17. Agreement between India & Mauritius in the field of Rural Development and
Poverty Alleviation.
18. India signed agreement with Mozambique for import of pulses. The MoU aims to
promote the production of Tur (Pigeon Peas) and other pulses in Mozambique by
encouraging progressive increase in the trading of these pulses.
19. Agreement between Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Royal Civil
Service Commission (RCSC), Bhutan. Decision in this regard was taken in the Union
Cabinet Meeting presided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
20. India and Switzerland have signed an agreement to establish formal cooperation
in the fields of skills development and vocational and professional education and
training.
21. The Union Cabinet has given its approval to the signing of a Protocol amending the
Agreement between India and Belgium for avoidance of double taxation.
