Mumbai, 24th August 2016: SAIBSA UNIVERSITY GUIDANCE
CONFERENCE 2016 hosted by SAIBSA (South Asia International
Baccalaureate Schools Association) in association with Univariety is an apex
body for Guidance and Counselling on IB Education system for South Asia
region. This is SOUTH ASIA'S LARGEST AND EXCLUSIVE UNIVERSITY
GUIDANCE CONFERENCE FOR HIGH SCHOOLS. Titled, 'SAIBSA Meet,
Leadership and University Guidance Conference' it will take place
concurrently on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th of August 2016, at The ITC
Grand Central, in Parel, Mumbai and will see the participation of all the top IB
Schools from the city.
The Leadership and UG Conference will encourage a panoptic discourse on
the theme of Student preparedness for the 21st century. The UGC is
committed to furthering a qualitative dialogue on Careers and College
Placement for High School students.
Mr. Kaiser Dopaishi, President, SAIBSA explains, "SAIBSA's collaborative
network has always had a focus on leadership. Not just at the admin level
but at all levels. This year has focussed on leadership which includes
Principals and IB programme Managers and co-opted career counsellors and
students in its endeavour to meaningfully approach the IB education. The
UGC has over the past 2 years, hosted over 150 schools from over 27 cities
across 4 countries. It has witnessed participation from over 50 Universities
from India, USA, UK, Australia, Singapore and Dubai and global organizations
like Cambridge International Exams (CIE), UK; The College Board, ACCA UK
and The U.S. Consulate General Mumbai, among others. The UGC will also be
attended by Members of International School Association, in other words the
CIE Schools across the country. The Youth Ministry, College Readiness:
Aligning Academic Rigour between High Schools and University etc.
Dr. R Varadarajan, Founder-Principal NES SVB Group & Secretary General,
SAIBSA states, "The University Guidance Conference will invoke discussions,
passionate debates and thoughtful introspection among the most important
influencers of the future of the countrys youth. This event stands very
important as it draws a effective action plan towards the the IB Education
system with its apt theme of 'Student Preparedness for 21st Century".

Some of the major highlights of the 2-day conclave will be a Panel discussion
on Student Preparedness for the 21st century, School Leadership & Strategic
Planning, A Roundtable: A Conclave Session and Unleashing Youth Leadership
in India for 26th Aug (day 1) by Dr. Kiran Bedi, Lt. Governor of Puducherry will
be the Keynote Speaker.
On 27th Aug (DAY 2) of the conclave will host the SAIBSA Job Alike for School
Leaders 2016. The major highlights will be a Common Plenary Session on The
Youth Ministry, The Process of Self Study Review, School Policies Language,
Admission & Personal Counseling, Written Curriculum, and Teaching &
Learning, Special E-Assessment / Portfolio Sessions for MYP & Action Plan for
PYP & DP.
On the sidelines of SAIBSA Job Alike for School Leaders 2016, the DAY 2 of
University Guidance Conference 2016 will also host College Readiness:
Aligning Academic Rigour between High Schools and University, From Ivy
League to Liberal Arts Colleges - Understanding the College Admissions
Process in the United States and Leadership in Schools
ABOUT SAIBSA: SAIBSA is the acronym for the South Asia International
Baccalaureate Schools Association which promotes a greater understanding
of the IB at all levels. SAIBSA aims to facilitate communication with
authorized and implementing IB schools in the South Asia region by
conducting activities like networking amongst authorized schools, helping
the implementing schools, Organizing in-service teacher training modules,
organizing cultural events for the IB students. The aim of this association is
to help nurture the growth of the IB movement in South Asia and help many
more teachers & students benefit from the unique IB programs.
