Treatment
Eye-catching brightly coloured billboard and poster with beautiful images of Cambridge in all its
glory to show the audience the cultures of Cambridge. These stunning images will showcase the
cultural within the majestic city. From art to History to street life, the poster & billboard will show
you all you need to see throughout Cambridge. Both poster and billboard will positively influences
the audience to want to live in this breath taking city. I will achieve this by taking original visually
amazing photographs of the culture and street life throughout Cambridge. Throughout my poster I
will have use bright colours so my target audience of students and young adults (of mainly a
female audience) can automatic be happy when viewing my poster making them understand how
accepting it is for all cultures. This will be shown through the images I present of market areas with
a range of different cultural products along with shops and stalls within the city centre.

Synopsis
I want my poster and billboard to have clear and large images. For my poster i want a large picture
in the centre and smaller picture around the outside. Also I want some culture info in small
sentences. For my billboard I want a large image and title with small faded writing on different
languages saying Welcome to.. connecting to the large title Cambridge.

Target audience
My Target audience for my product is mainly aimed at a female audience because my culture is
within shopping. However there will be also target a male audience because not all shops are
fashion and my images will include shops of food and normal shopping. Also its aimed at people
looking for a new city to learn about or even live in that want to know more about the shopping and
food culture. I think my posters and billboard is targeted at an age range of 18 to 25. My poster and
billboard will mainly target a younger demographic of students and youth that like to

For my finished product I want my product to inform the audience about the culture of Cambridge. I
also want the audience to want to come to Cambridge and look at the beautiful range of culture
and scenery. I want to educate people from different areas about the culture within Cambridge by
including pictures of Cambridge with plenty of culture showcasing the range of culture.

Style
The style of both my poster and billboard will be simple and clear but still colourful with some
cultural elements like pictures. Some of these could be the main picture on my billboard or poster.
This will include colloquial language that everyone can understand.

Conventions of a billboard & poster


My billboard and poster will fit the convention of a billboards and posters because I will use
samples from the promotional billboard and posters to follow making sure that my products are
similar in the scene it distributes the message I want my target audience to achieve. For my
billboard i wanted to have the words Welcome to.. all over the billboard in different languages
showing that Cambridge is full of different languages and that we as a city accept these different
languages too.

I will need a DSLR to take good quality pictures to use on my poster and billboard. My location list
will help me check of the locations I have visited to ensure i get pictures of all the locations.
Photoshop will help me edit the pictures with get and effects. Fonts list will help me come up and
narrow down a list of fonts. The effects list will help me in post production because it will speed up
the effects that I will enter in. The camera man will operate the camera and take pictures of the
locations. The editor will edit the billboard and poster together. The illustrator will draw out and plan
the ideas of the posters and billboard.

Indication of how the client could distribute and market it.


I think that the clients could distribute and market my billboard and poster around east anglia so
that the near surrounding cities and towns can see how amazing our city is and how much they
want to visit this culture filled city. Therefore I think the best places for my billboard to be presented
and where the clients would probably want it to be so more people see it is at train stations that run
locally to surrounding cities promoting Cambridge hopefully grabbing passing train passengers that
are looking for new places to visit. Also buses are a great way to display my product as you
normally see advertisements on the side of buses. My poster/billboard could go on the side of a
tour bus for a different city, maybe saying something like why not explore Cambridge with its
ranging culture . This would be effective because the people that would be seeing it are town
people that like street life as the buses would tour the town. Also it would show the passengers of
that bus that there is another city that they could explore. I could also use synergy when working
with the colleges as it i adding culture within students in Cambridge. This can help promote the city
itself and also student life making people from different cultures and ethnicity will want to join the
university if the diverse. My posters will be small and I think that the best place to have them
displayed is around Cambridgeshire and east anglia making people want to come and view the
culture in Cambridge. I could work with shops like Topshop to cross promote my posters and
billboards and also where i can promote Topshop and the culture they have too making us both
more money through advertisement. My posters could also be added to magazines so that i could
advertise Cambridge to a wider audience of people that may not be completely interested but my
poster could help sell it.

BBFC
For the rating on BBFC I think that my billboard and poster will be rated as an E and it will be
suitable for everyone.

Cost
The website Marketing Minefield has given me a rough cost for one billboard for a month is
anything from 500 to 1,500 per month. But if i was to do further into my product making this
would need further research for billboard and poster placements so I know a real amount.
