Fifth Grade PLC

2016-2017
Critical Issues Survey Goals:
1. We will create more formative checks throughout the year. These checks will
include review of standards previously taught as well as the standard students are
working on, and we will use them immediately to guide our instruction, instead of
waiting until the end to assess. We will use these to help us determine the
mastery of essential learning for each student. (#10)
2. We will create a record keeping system to help us assess the strengths and
weaknesses of our program. We will respond to the weaknesses. (#16)
3. We will help our students achieve at higher levels by using the results of our
common assessments by identifying strengths and weaknesses in our teaching of
the standards and assist each other in building on these strengths. (#12)
Long Term Smart Goals:
1. 80% of our students will be at or above the 50%tile in math for NWEA.
2. 75% of our students will make growth in NWEA Math.
3. 78% of our students will meet or exceed on MCA Reading.
4. 84% of our students will meet or exceed on MCA Math.

we write our own per grade?

Mallory - I have made 1 positive phone call, 2 positive email, and 2 positive inperson meetings. I did my own interest survey at conferences. I am talking with
kids at recess and during breaks during the day, greeting at the door and as we
leave.
Mandi: I made a positive contact for each student the first 2 days of school.
Since then, Ive made 3 a week. I greet and leave with a handshake or high 5. I
used my own survey at entrance conferences. Ive also used some ice breakers to
get to know each other.
