Teacher, British Literature, English Department, Father Ryan High School, Nashville, TN. Aug. 15--Present
As the sole instructor for four separate British Literature courses, I guide advanced 11th grade
students through a critical study of British Literature from the Anglo-Saxons to the modern day. We
explore the evolution of the English language and identity through the study of theme, diction, style,
genre, and historical context. Used Blackbaud System to communicate, share documents, and post
grades.
Teacher, English One, English Department, Father Ryan High School, Nashville, TN. Aug. 15-Present
In this 9th grade level course, which emphasizes literature and composition, I used works of
literature from outside the United States including poetry, memoir, short story, myth, and
Shakespeare to enhance students critical thinking and communication skills. I guided students
through the writing of a thesis-based research paper, taught the fundamentals of grammar, and
evaluated both their creative and analytical writing. I taught taught vocabulary from our texts and a
resource book and assigned memorized and note-based public speaking assignments. In addition, I
prepared students to take standardized tests, such as the PSAT. Used Blackbaud System to

As the creator and director of this after school program for elementary school students, I
introduced students to the life, times, and works of William Shakespeare and directed them in a
festival of scenes from Hamlet, A Midsummer Nights Dream, Romeo and Juliet, and Macbeth.

Graduate Teaching Fellow, THEA 115: Script Analysis Course, Theatre Department, MBC, Fall 2014
As the sole instructor for this writing--heavy course, I taught students both a system of play script
analysis and how to apply that analysis, for production, to significant plays of the modern and

Teaching Assistant, THEA 114: Intro to Drama; Greeks to the Renaissance, Theatre Dept, MBC, Fall 13
Students are introduced to Western theatre history and drama from the ancient Greeks to the
Renaissance. As the TA, I taught lessons on Shakespeares Hamlet, and Scalas The Lady Who Was
Believed Dead. I also responded to assigned essays and graded in--class quizzes.

As the sole instructor for this lab, I taught students to implement the public speaking skills they
learned in the class into four of their own speeches. I then graded their outlines and speeches.

Course serves as an introduction to the field of intercultural communication by looking at the
practical application of theory and research. It covers several general topics including: identity,
perception, communication skills, culture, linguistic differences, stereotyping, and intercultural
communication in education, medicine and business. I graded exams and essays for this course.

I introduced undergraduate students to basic concepts of performance dramaturgy and guided
them as they performed the role of production dramaturg for a mainstage show.
