Question 1
Anita Roddick had adopted and implemented low buy back pricing aspects for the US
based franchises. It cannot be considered as unethical activity as it is clear from the provided
case scenario that the products of Body Shop were effective in quality. On the other hand, it was
also important to mention that the organizational leaders implemented cost-based premium
pricing in UK, but the US market was saturated (Carroll & Buchholtz, 2014). On the other hand,
leading US based organizations considered competitive pricing strategy. Therefore, this low
buyback pricing is justified as the organizational leader tried to grab the potential US market.
Question 2
Anita Roddick can be referred as a visionary leader. Body Shop gained huge popularity
due to her adopted leadership style (Carroll & Buchholtz, 2014). On the other hand, it is also
important to mention that organizational management succeeded to develop a potential customer
base through effective corporate governance and business transparency. Therefore, LOreal
should leave them alone and influence them to follow the leadership style of Anita Roddick in
near future and carry on her legacy. Inadequate strategy development process can hamper
organizational culture, employee motivation, and business output. Therefore, Body Shops
business operation culture and process should be continued as it will help to focus on the
profitability.
