Greetings in the name of the Sacred Heart,
The Law School Department of Cor Jesu College (CJC-Law) is undertaking the Alternative
Dispute Resolution (ADR) program of the law schools curriculum. During this semester we are
teaching and raising the capacity of our students to address basic problems in ADR. In its pursuit
towards ensuring that the ADR training is appropriate and useful, we wish to improve ADR
education with actual practice in barangay mediation.
Currently, we are seeking barangays willing to partner with us for this purpose. For each
barangay we are targeting to immerse at least three students. The students will then observe the
mediation proceedings and provide technical assistance should the lupons require input.
For this end, we are hoping that we can sign a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the
barangay and the Law school for this arrangement. The target date for this immersion is from
February to April of 2017.
