Kelly Kudla shared about mentor program

1:30-1:40

Introductions--Please share one thing

that is going well in your buildings.

Jen shared ODRs are down, classroom calls are down, students out of classrooms are down.
Shaunece shared Coopers PBIS Committee is working on posters and tightening our Tier 1 systems of
supports for both staff and students, such as CHAMPS PD, etc.
Ken had CHAMPS poster night
Kelley has great MTSS Tier 1 down at SEA
Drew is doing well with CICO
Still use SWIS for CICO

1:40-2:00

Update on SWIS data system

training--Amie and Roshonda

Do we need to have a training in CICO?

Does not talk with IC
How are minors/majors being entered? Most are only entering minors.
Amie will email Santina to open the TFI (Tiered Fidelity Inventory 2.1)

Casey showed how to get into PBIS apps for the TFI- should be done 3 times a year unless in the
cohort, then 4 times a year.

2:00-2:30

Updates from Amie and Roshonda:

MTSS process
CICO
CHAMPS
PBIS MDE grant
Intervention List

District is creating a committee for MTSS process.

District would like instructional coaches and PBIS coaches to be working together, therefore, training
will be provided through the district.
If buildings would like to purchase PBIS items, let Roshonda and Amie know.

Please complete CICO building list if you havent completed:

edit#gid=0

CICO- can be either electronic or paper. Whatever works best for the student

Amie applied for a PBIS grant through MDE to get more training through CHAMPS, coaching book,
money for Cheryl for research, develop assessment for school climate, and extra time for coaches to
meet. Should find out in two weeks or so!

2:30

Please share your buildings needs for

support and training
1)
(i.e. help with building behavior data
analysis, CHAMPS, PTR, CICO,

School-Wide expectations, TFI

evaluations, Zones, MTSS

interventions and process).

Ideas for discussion:

How is your building using the TFI, ODR, suspension, or other data to determine your schoolwide PBIS needs? Are you drilling down the data to determine needs for specific groups or
individual students? How often do you review your data?
Once a month in most buildings, SOE does it weekly.
Top 5, Behavior Summary with Ethnicity, Grade, Time
Additional training was requested in the TFI and in data analysis. Annie is scheduled to come
to the next meeting on 1/11.

2) 6 out of the 15 buildings are using the SWIS-CICO system. In the buildings that are using it
(Forest, Neill, Noble, Northport, Forest, Meadow Lake, SEA), are you finding it to be an
effective intervention and is your staff supportive in your implementation efforts? For
buildings that havent started, what tools, resources, and supports do you need from other
coaches or from the district? CICO district-wide implementation is part of our CEIS plan with
the Minnesota Department of Education.
PMS and CHS requested additional CICO training.
Question whether it is really a Tier 2 intervention. Since its so individualized, is it more Tier
3?
Secondary buildings would like to try using electronic DPRs.
Tammy created a District Intervention bank for everyone to share resources.

3) How often does your school PBIS team meet? How is your building working on your school
climate SIP goal?
ZLE: surveyed teachers, they are gathering all PBIS resources and keeping in one place.
Steph shared google presentation.
Schools are meeting once a month- everyone has a team

4) Building updates on MTSS. Last time we met, most buildings reported that they were still in
the beginning stages of implementing the new system. Most buildings were still concentrating
on Tier 1, whereas some were working more on Tier 2 and 3 interventions and supports.
Meadow Lake, Neill, Forest, and Northport reported using the Basic 5 and Ecology Checklist
for coaching teachers as part of the Tier 1 MTSS process. How are those going? How are
teachers responding to the coaching process? Do you see a need for additional CHAMPS

PBIS PLC

training in your building?

Forest, Neill and Meadow Lake are using the forms for both academic and behavior.
Northport is also using the observation/coaching forms to look at the classroom through the
lens of the student.
Zachary Lane is doing the Basic 5 for all classrooms
PBIS and Instructional coaches are using the forms and process.
Need more information to determine if the coaching process as part of Tier 1 is effective.

Steph will send out more information. Looking at meeting twice a month for 1 hours.
Determined we wont need an official lead.
