heavenly Father for Jesus Christ’s sake our Lord. Amen.

Collect of the Day

Almighty God, you have taught us through your Son that love
fulfils the law. May we love you with all our heart, all our soul,
all our mind, and all our strength, and may we love our
neighbour as ourselves; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who
lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now
and for ever. Amen.
The Proclamation of the Word

First Reading: 2 Kings 2:1-2, 6-14

Psalm 77:1-2, 11-20

I will cry aloud to God; * I will cry aloud, and he will hear me.
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; * my hands were stretched
out by night and did not tire; I refused to be comforted.
I will remember the works of the Lord, * and call to mind your wonders
of old time.
I will meditate on all your acts * and ponder your mighty deeds.
Your way, O God, is holy; * who is so great a god as our God?
You are the God who works wonders * and have declared your power
among the peoples.
By your strength you have redeemed your people, * the children of
Jacob and Joseph.
The waters saw you, O God; the waters saw you and trembled; * the
very depths were shaken.
The clouds poured out water; the skies thundered; * your arrows
flashed to and fro;
The sound of your thunder was in the whirlwind; your lightnings lit up
the world; * the earth trembled and shook.
Your way was in the sea, and your paths in the great waters, * yet your
footsteps were not seen.
You led your people like a flock * by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

incorporate an enjoyable walk are being held throughout the summer.
We’ll meet at a different outdoor setting and explore a different theme
each week. Planned themes are: Beach Walking (Jul 8), To the Bridge

looking for a quilt for the fall. If you have a quilt for these talented
hands, please contact Marion Ling at 905-885-9926.

Thank you everyone for all of your submissions for a new name for
Youth Group. We had a great response from the congregation with
some great ideas. As of now, the Youth Group will be called JAM. It's
short for Jesus And Me! Even though we had a lot of submissions, JAM
was actually submitted by the youth and picked by the youth. JAM
sessions will occur once a month for the summer months and as always
members will be notified. If you are interested or know someone who
might be, please tell them to contact Steve White or Jackie Foote. Our
members range in age from 12-18 and our overall goal is to have fun.

Please pray for J.A.M. today as we travel to Canada's Wonderland!

That everyone would have a blast and that all would be safe both
driving and on the rides!

St. John's is planning a new photo directory for our parish. This
wonderful keepsake won't be complete unless you and your family are
included. Working with IPC Canada, we will be scheduling photo
sessions for members of St. John's for October 13th,14th,15th and
16th. For parishoners who can't work those fall dates into their schedule
or who will have children away at school, we are also offering
appointments all day on August 17th. To schedule an photo session,
please e mail us at stjohnsweb@bell.net and include your name and
phone number. Help make our new pictorial directory complete by
scheduling your appointment today.
