2 Sam. 5:24-25 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of the
mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall the LORD go out before thee, to
smite the host of the Philistines. And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and
smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gazer.

John 7:12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some
said , He is a good man: others said , Nay; but he deceiveth the people.

Hosea 13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from
death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid
from mine eyes.

Master and Commander:

I heard the sound of a going in the mulberry trees! But have I stirred myself like
you stirred those leaves? Have I served you by every means necessary to the
rescue of others from Hell? Have I responded to our spiritual momentum?
Alas, my Lord! I have sown much seed, which died for lack of watering. I
know some of my witnessing loses force for lack of solid follow-up.
Give me an eye to know the favorable times and seasons to talk. When I
sense the power of the Spirit in the midst of a conversation, teach me how to
follow that up. I think of __________, who is anxious about their marriage. Now
is the time for a good word from me. I think of __________, who is worried
about a child. Now is my best chance to speak. I believe __________ is open to
conviction. Teach me how to do what I can in your Eternal Purpose.
Salvation is of you Lord, from first to last. But it is my responsibility to be
used as the means to bring people the message, just as if it were in my own power
to move them. The rustling may be very faint, yet it is my time and my
opportunity. Make me more earnest about witnessing when I notice your Spirits
movement in someones life. Give me a soul-consciousness!
I have a special prayer for the New Year; that I can take your promises and
make them applied! Give me freedom and liberty to witness. Above all, give me
more closeness of communion with Christ, so when I hear the sound, I will stir. I
seek your help O God, in Jesus name and by faith in Him alone. Amen.
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: Genesis 46-48, Matthew 12:26-50
Thursday, January 19

Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled
together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with
boldness.

NOTHING between my soul and my Savior,

Naught of this worlds delusive dream;
I have renounced all sinful pleasure;
Jesus is mine, theres nothing between.
Nothing between, like worldly pleasure;
Habits of life, though harmless they seem,
Must not my heart from Him ever sever;
He is my all, theres nothing between.
Nothing between, like pride or station;
Self or friends shall not intervene;
Though it may cost me much tribulation,
I am resolved, theres nothing between.
Nothing between my soul and my Savior,
So that His blessed face may be seen;
Nothing preventing the least of His favor;
Keep the way clear! Let nothing between.
Charles A. Tindley, 1905

Merciful Father:
Religious zealots beat themselves until they bleed, because they believe
suffering is redemptive and you reward them for their own. But no sufferings of
mine can have anything to do with atonement for sin. No blood but what Jesus
spilt, no groans but those from Jesus heart, no suffering but that endured by you,
Lord Jesus, can ever make a payment for sin. God will not pity because I endured
affliction. I must consider Jesus, and not myself. Its not about the blessings;
its all about the blood. I must trust in your blood alone, not in my own merits.
Father, you saw Christ hanging in the sinners place, and did not spare him!
What happens then when you find the sinner with-out and outside Christ? You
will not spare them! Just as Jesus was led away by his enemies, so they will be led
away by the Devils fiends to the place appointed to those who reject Jesus.
Matt. 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye
cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
You not only show us your cross, but the results of rejecting it. You were
only a sinner by imputation (by attribution, not by actual reality), yet you were
deserted of God. How much more those who consent not to your love?
Prov. 1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
The whole universe will hiss at the lost. Angels shall be ashamed of them.
Their own saved friends and relatives will say Amen to their just
condemnation. Oh Father, do not let them die so! By the agonies of Christ, by his
wounds and his blood, do not let them bring on themselves this curse. Help them
by your Spiritand by my witnessto trust in Jesus the Son of God! Amen.

Your Love, O LORD:

Is like a rock of mercy. It rises to us out of a sea of wrath. I want to pray
this promise and claim it, because I do believe you are about to revive us again! I
believe the side of your body was dug-out with that Roman spear, so the deep
mines of graces wealth can be emptied for me.
Sometimes I feel so dead, I think my life is just a spiritual death. I am
merely existing, not flourishing like I should. Redeem me from death, my
Master, by revival. My flesh is full of sin, but the fullness of your Spirit can drive
it out. And I know that he will if I ask, because the ransom has already been paid!
Regeneration has liberated my soul; now make the word do the work in my life.
Psa. 119:25 My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.
Sometimes I feel I am in the hand of the grave, as it were. But you pledge
to redeem me from that power. Assert yourself again: I will ransomI will redeem
O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction. Who but you, my Creator,
can do that? Reviving me is not impossible, or even difficult for you. So alter my
life with your life, I pray. Alter my nature with your Spirit. Destroy Satan with
plagues by seeing my revival!
You say, Repentance shall be hid from [your] eyes. And there you have stated your
unalterable will. You will not repent of promising me revival! You will not
change your mind about giving if I ask and showing if I seek. That, for certain, is
an immutable decree and your sovereign will. Thank you Father, for revealing
this to my faith. Now make it real in my experience, for Jesus sake! Amen.

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY

Chronological Bible Reading: Genesis 49-50; Matthew 13:1-29

SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS

Chronological Bible Reading: Exodus 1-3; Matthew 13:30-58
Saturday, January 21

Matt. 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Psa. 77:14 Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among
the people.

Father in Heaven:
For our childrenphysical and spiritualwe pray: fill their hearts with
your love. Give them grace and mercy without measure as they relate to other
people. Give us a corps of teachers! Kids need models, mentors, and parenting
relationships with others in their family, and at our church. Help them develop
respect in their communication so a strong, godly testimony is maintained.
Psa. 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in
unity!
Father, teach us to solve misunderstandings according to your word. Driveout the wedge of division Satan tries to insert between us.
Eph. 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Lord, take away any jealousies, suspicions and pride from our homes and
from our church. Forgive us where we fail, and draw us forward in faith.
Prov. 22:24-25 Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou
shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
Lord, we lift up our children to you! Bring godly role models into their
lives. Give them the pictures of wisdom that will enable them to have an example
of discretion and a replica of righteousness to follow in choosing friends who will
draw them closer to you. Take anyone who is not a godly influence out of
their lives, or else transform that person into your likeness.
Prov. 4:14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
Deliver us from people who would teach us wicked ways. Show us the
meaning of true friendship that glorifies you. Holy Spirit, pierce our heart with an
understanding of Jesus own closeness to it. Do it for his sake today. Amen.

Mighty Lord, Thou Art the God!

Make my soul turn back from my present pain, and contemplate the
wonderful works of God. Whatever else may pass-away and be forgotten, your
marvelous works will not. Make my memory aid my faith! When faith goes
through its seven years of famine, memory should open the storehouses of grain.
Meditation enriches my prayer. It is so sad how most prayer of professing
Christians is worthless, because they take no time for deep preparation. Teach me
how if I cannot trace your steps I can still trust your hand, because you are holy
and good (all the time) and will always do right.
Let me worship in order to increase my wisdom. Your providence and
grace are both full of examples of power and perfection. In grace you are mighty
to save. In power you are mighty to preserve. How can my faith be weak when
your power is so strong? Help my meditation banish my doubts!
Psa. 77:19 Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are
not known.
Even the atmosphere is obedient to you. You move deep, far down in
secret channels. You have no problem walking on top of the same sea
threatening to drown me. You are alone in glory. You will accomplish your
Eternal Purpose. Evilwhich you could have prevented from ever existingyou
instead turn inside-out to work your will (though your means for working that
will is often concealed from my eye).
Guide me on, Oh great Jehovah! The Smiter of Egypt is a Shepherd to me.
Go before me into this next year. Do it so you may be glorified by Jesus. Amen.

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
