The scholarship is offered in the name of Tan Sri Dato Seri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah, Foundation Chancellor of Sunway University, and Sir

1. The scholarship is a full scholarship in the form of tuition fee deduction (excluding general fees).
2. The scholarship includes a two weeks study visit to Lancaster University, UK during the final year of
studies (Year 3). Costs covered by Sunway University and Lancaster University are
(i) air fares (economy class) from Kuala Lumpur to Lancaster University and return, and

A. Sports
Awarded to students with outstanding sports achievement at the state and national levels.
VALUE:
50% scholarship for State Athletes 75% - 100% scholarship for National Athletes
ELIGIBILITY
Malaysian students studying full-time in Sunway University who are State or National athletes
(2 years prior to joining Sunway University Year 2011)
Sports affiliated with Olympic Council Malaysia.
Verification by State or National Sports Association.
The Sports Scholarships are open to Malaysians only.

Sunway Continuing Bursary

For Sunway College/Sunway University students
(i) 10% Continuing Bursary for Degree Programmes at Sunway University. This bursary is applicable for 1 year of study.
Students must progress to higher level of education.
For Sunway College Foundation in Arts students
(i) 10% Continuing Bursary for Degree Programmes at Sunway University. This bursary is applicable for 3 years of study.
Terms & Conditions for Continuing Bursary
1. This bursary is applicable for students from Sunway College KL, Sunway College JB, Sunway College Ipoh, Sunway
College Kuching and Sunway University.
2. This bursary is offered from the commencement of the programme and will be deducted from the semester tuition
fee only. The bursary does not cover general fees, exam fees, re-sit or repeat of subjects.
3. Students must register within 1 year from the date of completion of their first programme at Sunway.
4. Students receiving Continuing Scholarship are not eligible for the Continuing Bursary.
Sibling Discount
Siblings are entitled to RM500 discount on their tuition fee. This is a one-off deduction for new registrations (i.e. new
students) only. The Sibling Discount will be awarded to the next sibling when both siblings attend Sunway University at
the same time and tuition fees are paid in full; or if one of the siblings has completed or is still pursuing a programme of
study of more than a years duration at Sunway University. Applicable to all programmes, except Manchester Business
School programmes, part-time and short courses. This discount is applicable to both Malaysian and international students.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR ALL SCHOLARSHIPS

1. Only Malaysian citizens are eligible to apply.
2. Students awaiting pre-university results may apply. However, offer of
Scholarships will be made only when University receives the official
final results and after an interview has been conducted.
3. The scholarship is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash.
4. Students receiving scholarships from other bodies are not eligible
for the scholarship.
5. The scholarship will be subjected to a review at the end of every
semester. A scholar must pass all examinations and maintain
high academic standards (70% grade average), failing which the
scholarships can be withdrawn.
6. The terms and manner in which the scholarship is disbursed will be

8. Offer of scholarship will only be made when the Institution receives

9. For students who are eligible for several forms of discount by
Sunway Education Group or Sunway Group (e.g. Staff Discount,
Sibling Discount, others), the scholarship awarded will be applicable
on the net balance of the tuition fee payable after the deduction of
the relevant discount/bursary.
10. Scholarship is awarded in the form of deduction on tuition fee.
11. The Scholarship is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash.
12. The award will be terminated upon completion of the study period
specified by Sunway University.

decision made by the Scholarship Committee is final.
20. Sunway University reserves the right to involve the scholarship
recipients in interviews, advertisements, photography or other
publicity related activities for the purpose of promoting the
educational institution.
For Tan Sri Dato Seri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship and
Continuing Scholarship
A. For Diploma Programmes:
1. The scholarship or deduction will be implemented in the 2nd
semester of the programme.
2. Full scholars need not make further semester tuition fee payments
until the full utilisation of the total 1st year tuition fee.
3. Full scholars upon utilising the total of the 1st year tuition fee, will
continue fee payments for the remaining semesters.
B. For American Degree Transfer Program:

1. The scholarship will be implemented from the 2nd semester of
the programme until the full utilisation of the scholarship amount
granted. Scholars upon utilising of the total amount granted shall
continue to make payments on the remaining billable amounts.
2. Full scholars need not make further semester tuition fee payments
until the full utilisation of the total 30 credit hours tuition fee.
Scholars upon utilising the total of the 30 credit hours tuition fee
will continue tuition fee payments for the remaining semesters.
C. For Degree Programmes:
1. The scholarship will be implemented from the 1st semester of the
programme onwards.
2. Scholars are required to reapply for the continuation of the
scholarship through Student Services Department on a yearly basis.
3. There shall be no upgrading of scholarships.
4. Decision on the continuation of the scholarship is at the sole
discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
5. For UEC scholars:
- Points are calculated based on 5 subjects, exclusive of Chinese,
Chinese Literature, Art and non-academic subjects
- Results for all subjects must be at least C and above
6. Scholars must maintain the following minimum grades as part of
the criteria to continue the scholarship:
- Scholars on 25% scholarship must meet a minimum of 60%
grade average.
- Scholars on 50% scholarship must meet a minimum of 65%
grade average.
D. For Continuing Scholarship:
1. Students receiving this scholarship are not eligible for the 10%
Continuing Bursary.
2. This scholarship is only available to Sunway University students
(Malaysian & international) who have completed either a PreUniversity, Diploma or Foundation programme with Sunway
University/Sunway College, Sunway College JB or Sunway College
Ipoh.
3. The scholarship will be implemented from the 1st semester of the

1. Qualified candidates MUST represent the Institution in MAPCU
games or any other tournaments as and when required by the
Institution Management.
2. Sports Scholarship athletes must maintain good grades.
3. Athletes are required to contribute at least 20 hours per year on
conducting sports training workshop, clinical work etc (exclude
competition hours).
4. The Sports Scholarship is reviewed on a yearly basis. Scholarships
can be revoked based on the discretion of the Institution.
5. The final decision to grant the scholarship is at the sole discretion

For Talent Scholarships - Music
1. The scholarship is offered strictly to full-time registered students of
Sunway University.
2. Offer of Scholarship will only be made when the Sunway University
receives the actual results.
3. The scholarship is awarded in the form of tuition fee waiver.
4. The schedule of general fees must be paid as and when required, in
accordance to Sunway Universitys policy on enrolment and fees.
5. The recipients should at least pass with minimum grade required
by the respective programme.

For Sunway University Community Bursary

1. This bursary is applicable for new registered students to Sunway
University only. (Students will have to meet the entry requirements
of the programme enrolled.)
2. The bursary is offered from the commencement of the programme
and will be granted in the form of a partial tuition fee waiver.
3. Applications are based on results obtained in SPM, O-Level & UEC
examinations taken in year 2011 and 2012.
4. Students applying based on forecast results will be granted the
bursary on a conditional offer that the actual result must meet the
minimum entry requirements. Failing to do so will result in the
bursary being revoked.
5. For students who are eligible for several forms of discount by
Sunway Education Group or Sunway Group (e.g. Staff Discount,
Sibling Discount, others), the bursary awarded will be applicable on
the net balance of the tuition fee payable after the deduction of the
relevant discount.
6. The quantum of awards to successful applicants is at the sole
discretion of Sunway University.
7. This bursary is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash or
other alternatives.
8. This bursary will be terminated upon completion of the normal
prescribed study period specified by Sunway University. The bursary
is not applicable to tuition fee occurred due to repeat subject.
9. Sunway University reserves the right to review this bursary awarded
on a yearly basis. The bursary may be withdrawn at anytime should
the student fail to meet the required academic grades or due to
misconduct.
10. In the event that the bursary recipient withdraws from the
programme, is suspended or terminated by Sunway University at
any point in time, before the completion of the programme, the
bursary shall automatically be terminated.
11. The final decision to grant the bursary is at the sole discretion of
Sunway University.
12. All applications must be received by the stipulated deadlines. Late
applicants will not be considered.
For Sibling Discount
1. Applicants must be registered as Sunway University students.
2. Not applicable to government sponsored, corporate sponsored or
Language programmes students.
3. Offer of discount will only be made when the Institution receives the
following documented proof:
a. Certified photocopies of Birth Certificates for both siblings;
b. Certified photocopies of IC for both siblings;
c. Certified photocopies of Completion Certificate, Academic
Transcripts or Current Student ID Card from Sunway University/
Sunway College of a sibling.
4. The discount is in the form of deduction from tuition fee. It shall not
be deducted from any general, registration, application or exam fees.
5. This discount is provided as a One Time Off Deduction for new
registrants only. It will not be valid for returning, repeating or
continuing students.
6. The final decision to grant the discount is at the sole discretion of
the Admissions Unit of Sunway University.
7. This discount is valid for all Malaysians and International students.
The Application deadlines are 2 weeks after commencement of programmes or 2 weeks after the
release of actual results.
