Determination of soil parameters


Determination of the soil parameters is based of the information provided in "Geoteknisk
rapport nr. 1" and "Geotechnical data - extract of selected test data".

1. Approximation of qt from the CPT test and


determination of cu from the CPT test
Based on the "Geotechnical data - extract of selected test data", an approximation of the data
for the CPT test was extracted.

According to the data from geotechnical report, in skema 16, we can find the following values

For the design the initial modulus of elasticity, Ei, will be used. In the above graphs two
interpretation are used, an exponential and a linear one. It is observed that exponential
interpetation give more approximate results.
An approximate variation of the E modulus is given by the relation:

Accorging to the computation of the given results from the Geotechnical Report and
considering a more detailed classification of the soil in borehole L*H11 the soil was divided
into following types.
In more simple way, seeing the graphs with the results from the CPT test, it is possible to
divide the soil in 3 parts , fill and 2 clays, but for a more detailed soil classification is
presented in the following.
