Document-Based Question Silver

Out of the three DBQs I wrote during the semester, this was the best one. I incorporated
all requirements very well. I feel that I wrote very informally compared to other pieces I wrote
during the semester, but I think that got my point across better. The improved use of logic is
evident in this essay, as is improved synthesis. I connected my synthesis to my thesis very well,
and made the point universal, comparing it to other instances in history. This DBQ represented
the improvement of my argumentative skills throughout the semester. I probably wouldnt
change my approach to the assignment if I did it again.

I completed my part of the assignment 30 minutes before class, when it was due. Over the
semester, I struggled with major procrastination, so Im surprised how well it turned out. I
successfully used evidence to explain my reasoning behind a claim. I didnt let the evidence
explain for me, rather explained to the audience why I used the evidence. This assignment
represented how well I could do under pressure, and how I can relate images to a theme. The
only change to my approach would be a change in how much I procrastinated on the assignment.

Switching from Honors World History to AP World History might have been the best
decision I have made in my high school career so far. I felt that Honors World History would be
too easy with a lot of busy work, so I switched to AP World History. I think this gave me a great
start on my AP experience during high school, and helped me with my reading skills. I find
themes in selections quicker, and I blur out anything that is unimportant. The class helped me
with my argumentative skills by making me explain my evidence. I can see how everything
comes together being at the end of the course. Overall, this course, originally a way for me to
show off my AP brilliance, has actually helped in regards to high school, especially when it
comes to reading.
