My top five sources are For the First Time, Scientists use RNA to Target RNA in Live

Cells by Heather Buschman, PhD., a video by MIT named Genome editing with CRISPRCas9, a journal article by Patrick Hsu, PhD. labeled Development and Applications of
CRISPR-Cas9 for Genome Engineering, Viral Vectors in Gene Therapy by Brenda Lerner and
K. Lerner, and an interview that I conducted with Ross Wilson, PhD. These are my most
important bibliographies because they provide ample information about my topic and the
problem that I am trying to solve. They also greatly expanded my knowledge on this topic and
assisted me in coming up with new ideas/theories to propose as a solution to my research
question. By reading these sources I was also able to better understand my topic so I can relay
the information to my audiences during my presentations.
These sources are very diverse and some provide different information because they are
not on the same exact topic. For example, the video by MIT is a general overview of what
CRISPR-Cas9 is for people who are interested in it and explains this system in layman's terms,
while Genome editing with CRISPR-Cas9 dives into the grit of CRISPR and discusses
research and technical problems and flaws within the system. Viral Vectors in Gene Therapy
discusses gene therapy in general and does not mention CRISPR at all; however, since CRISPR
is a form of gene therapy it was important for me to know how it is delivered, and this source
was providing more general info so that I can apply it to my topic and understand it. The
interview was quite different from my other sources because it provided personal insight into
what researchers really do and focus on while experimenting with CRISPR. Finally, the article
about RNA differs from most of my other articles because it discusses a factor of CRISPR that
has never been thought about before: editing RNA instead of DNA.

These sources will play a huge role in my research paper because they will contribute to
my overall solution to my research question and they will also help me explain CRISPR-Cas9.
Genome Engineering with CRISPR-Cas9 is helpful for providing the foundations of CRISPRCas9 and explains the basics of it. The other four sources will be used for going more in depth
and for explaining my research question in the proposed solution. The other four sources go
beyond the basics of CRISPR and explain research and applications to real-world problems.
