Electronic Data Policy

Braun Intertec technical resources, including desktop and portable computer systems, fax machines,
internet and World Wide Web (Web) access, voice mail, and electronic mail, enable employees too
quickly and efficiently access and exchange information throughout Braun Intertec and around the world.
This policy applies to all technical resources that are owned or leased by Braun Intertec, that are used on
or accessed from Braun Intertec premises, or that are used for Braun Intertec business. This policy also
applies to all activities using any Braun Intertec paid accounts, subscriptions, or other technical services,
such as internet and Web access, mobile devices, voice mail, and email, whether or not the activities are
conducted from Braun Intertec premises.
All data that is composed, transmitted, or received via Braun Intertec computer communications
systems, including company-issued mobile devices, is considered part of the official records of Braun
Intertec and, as such, is subject to disclosure to law enforcement or other third parties. Consequently,
you should always ensure that the business information contained in email messages and other
transmissions is accurate, appropriate, ethical, and lawful.
Braun Intertec strives to maintain a workplace free of harassment and sensitive to the diversity of its
employees. Therefore, Braun Intertec prohibits the use of computers, mobile devices, the e-mail system
and instant message functions in ways that are disruptive, offensive to others, or harmful to morale.
For example, the display or transmission of sexually explicit images, messages and cartoons is not
allowed. Other such misuse includes, but is not limited to, ethnic slurs, racial comments, off-color jokes,
or anything that may be construed as harassing in nature or showing disrespect for others.
E-mail or other forms of electronic communication using company-provided resources may not be used
to solicit others for commercial ventures, religious or political causes, outside organizations, or other
non-business matters.
Employees should not send e-mail or any other communications that mask their identities or indicate
that someone else sent them. Employees should only access the libraries, files, data, programs, and
directories that are related to their work duties. Unauthorized review, duplication, dissemination,
removal, installation, damage, or alteration of files, passwords, computer systems or programs, or other
property of Braun Intertec, or improper use of information obtained by unauthorized means, is
prohibited.

Employees should notify their immediate supervisors, human resources department, the CEO, or any
member of senior management upon learning of violations of this policy. Employees who violate this
policy will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
In addition, Braun Intertec prohibits the following:
1. Sending unsolicited e-mail messages, including the sending of junk mail or other advertising
material to individuals who do not specifically request such material (e-mail spam);
2. Any form of harassment via e-mail, telephone or paging, whether through language,
frequency, or size of messages.
3. Unauthorized use or forging of e-mail header information;
4. Solicitation of e-mail for any other e-mail address, other than that of the posters account,
with the intent to harass or to collect replies;
5. Creating or forwarding chain letters or other pyramid schemes of any type.
6. Use of unsolicited e-mail originating from within Braun Intertec and its subsidiary networks of
other internet/intranet/extranet service providers on behalf of, or to advertise, any service
hosted by Braun Intertec and its subsidiaries or connected via the Braun Intertec network; and
7. Posting the same or similar non-business-related messages to large numbers of usernet
newsgroups (newsgroup spam).
