Science is a common phenomenon for the contemporary man and
therefore most nondescript as all common notions. Science is a systematic
enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable
explanations and predictions about the universe.
Contemporary science is typically divided into the natural sciences, which
study the material of the universe; the social sciences, which study people
relation and societies; and the formal sciences, which study logic, physics,
mathematics.
The formal sciences are often excluded as they do not depend on
empirical observations. Disciplines which use science, like engineering and
medicine, may also be considered to be applied sciences.
Kotarski Tadeusz, Polish praxiology in "Treatise on the job well done"
offers the following definition: "Any knowledge which has matured enough
to be taught as a special subject in higher education is a science. "
Science uses an empirical approach. Empiricism (founded by John
Locke) states that the only source of knowledge comes through our senses
e.g. sight, hearing etc. Science is a method that includes classification,
measurement, analysis, synthesis, analogy, induction, deduction,
observation, experiment, hypothesis, theory.

Psychology is usually characterized as the scientific study of human

behavior and mental processes, and this example illustrates the features that
make it scientific.
The level of confidence of the sources is given by the number of citations
and by the professional content. There are a lot of sites and articles that are
fake or just useless opinions and they dont have a scientific content. The
true scientific sources have to be verified and processed until they are
published.
The complexity of the research object of psychology, subjective nature
psyche reflect on the methodology used in research psychological, instilling
in her a number of specific features. The source of the material must be
documented in the working body by citing the author and date of the
sources.
The underlying principle is that ideas and words of others must be
formally acknowledged. The researcher can get the full source citation from
the list of references that fallows the body of the document.
