Driver less cars using IOT technology

Internet of Things (IoT), formerly unconnected devices are wirelessly linked to the
Internet so that they can report and collect data or automate systems. The
Internet of Things (IoT) has become a powerful force for business
transformation, and its disruptive impact is being felt in the automobile
industry as driverless IoT-connected cars which was once a dream is now
turning out into a reality.
Tesla's Autopilot feature is one of the most advanced semi-autonomous systems on
the road, allowing the company's vehicles to accelerate, decelerate, change lanes,
merge with traffic, and overtake cars on their own
Automakers fear that, should they lose control of the customer to software
providers, cars could become commodity devices secondary to the software they
run(we buy cars based on the softwrae supported by it)
It will reduce the accidents.
Automatic parking
Automatic accelaration and decelaration
It can save the energy efficently based on all the traffic calculation ahead
We can take the shortest or fastest route based on our reuqirements. It will estimate
all the traffic,no of vehicles etc using machine learning and big data techologies and
make the estimation.
People can utilize time effectively instead of wasting time utilizing for driving.
Phd can also drive a car

DRIVERLESS CAR
CHAPTER 1INTRODUCTION
1.1Overview
The overview of this project is to implement a driverless car is an autonomous
vehicle that candrive itself from one point to another without assistance from a

driver. One of the mainimpetuses behind the call for driverless cars is safety. An
autonomous vehicle is fundamentallydefined as a passenger vehicle. An
autonomous vehicle is also referred to as an autopilot, driverless car, auto-drive car,
or automated guided vehicle (AGV).

Most prototypes that have been built so far performed automatic steering that were
based on sensing the painted lines in theroad or magnetic monorails embedded in
the road

When it comes to seeing the road, driverless cars currently in development are based on
one of two systems: LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) and optical camera sensors.
A driverless cars sensor system must be able to detect the road, obstacles like fallen trees and
construction sites, other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, finally it must be able to sense the
speed and direction of any moving objects.
The LiDAR system detects objects by firing out a laser and waiting for a reflection to
come back. The reflection is measured to determine the distance between the
object and the car. But it is very costly.
A dozen ultrasonic sensors provide a 360-degree view around the vehicle, and a
RADAR system helps the cars Autopilot system to make decisions.
