Introduction

The GLIDEROL Colorbond Roller Doors are designed for commercial and industrial use.
Available in both manual and automatic models, these doors are suitable for openings up to 6 m
wide x 5 m high in a single panel. For wider openings or if desired, a series of smaller width
doors can be fitted, linked by removable centre mullions.
In Commercial application, the Gliderol door is excellent as shop-front doors. Its Colorbond
finish gives a softer appearance and is less industrial looking. With a choice of standard colours
and the flexibility of colour-play, these doors will fit into any shop-front dcor. Its operation is
quiet and smooth, and requires so little effort that the lady shop staff will definitely appreciate.
Locking is ergonomically located at waist level.
In Industrial application, the door is substantially lighter than conventional roller shutters,
achieved through the use of continuous sheet curtain material and nylon components. Superb
counterbalancing, coupled with a 1 to 4 planetary gearing system enables the door to be
manually operated with much less effort. Operation speed is more than 10 times faster than
conventional systems. In electrically operated models, the door is powered by the Industrial
GLIDERMATIC, a purpose-built patented motor operator which drives the door directly. The
system has excellent features and is a most efficient and cost-effective motor operator available
for industrial doors.

When possible, activate the manual release only when the door is closed. Weak or broken springs
may allow the door to fall rapidly, causing severe injury or even death. In all cases, stand clear of the
door. In the event that the door appears to fall, a qualified service technician will be required to
adjust the spring tension.

Control Unit
The CONTROL UNIT is best mounted on the same side as the drive unit with
an uninterrupted view of the door.
It is essential that the CONTROL UNIT be securely attached to the wall or
structure involved through the mounting holes provided.
Connect the CONTROL UNIT to a 230-volt single phase AC 5.0 AMP power
source, being sure to follow local wiring codes.

E.

Door Travel Adjustment

The door travel limit is determined by rotation of cams in the drive unit. The cams
are driven by a gear mechanism and activate a limit switch at the desired position.
* The inner cam determines the closed position
* The outer cam determines the open position.

CAUTION :

The motorised travel of the door is directly controlled by the Cam adjustment settings.
Please ensure the required door travel is correctly set.

F.

Safety Reversing
An inherent safety feature of the Glidermatic operator is the overload function.
This ensures that a closing door will stop and reverse motion if an obstruction is
encountered.
CAUTION :

Always disconnect power to unit BEFORE making any setting changes

The overload function should be tested on a regular monthly basis to ensure the
door will reverse on its downward motion when an obstruction is encountered. If
this function does not operate discontinue use and contact a qualified service
technician.

G. Maintenance
The GLIDEROL Colorbond Roller door is virtually maintenance-free with no
periodic greasing required. The guides are extruded aluminium section with slots
at the lips to retain a seamless PVC strip which is designed to prevent metal-tometal contact and effectively eases sliding friction.
An inspection and servicing of the Colorbond roller door is recommended to be
performed yearly.
