LEAVE RULES

1.

These Rules are called the Leave Rules of


Rules come into effect from.

These Rules are applicable to following Category of employees.


1) Workmen 2) Supervisors 3) Staff 4) Engineers and Officers (below the
Rank of Asst. Manager).

Above category of employees are entitled to the following Leaves annually :


a) Earned Leave : As per the Provisions of Factories Act i.e. 1 day for every
20 working days.
b) Sick Leave :
i)
For those who are covered under ESI : 06 Days Per Year.
ii)
For those who are out of ESI purview : 10 Days per Year.
c) Casual Leave : 7 Days per Year.

Earned Leaves will be proportionate to the actual days worked.

5.

Earned Leaves can be accumulated upto 90 days only. Whenever it exceeds


this 90 days limit it will be compulsorily enchased during the year in which it
exceeds this limit, and encashment is optional between 30 90 days
accumulation.

Sick Leave can be accumulated upto 30 days. During the year in which it
exceeds this limit unutilised Sick Leave, (Over and above 30 days) 50 % of
the Days saved would be encashed and the remaining 50 % will be lapsed.

7.

While no Medical Certificate is necessary for sickness upto three days duration
such certificate is necessary where sickness is of more than three days.

8.

Medical Certificate shall be sent to the Management before the second day of
the Employee's Sickness.

9.

Where the employee fall sick at an outstation after availing of Earned


Leave/Privilege Leave the same can not be converted into Sick Leave. If the
sickness continues beyond the period of the Earned Leave/Privilege Leave
availed of, the rest of the period will be treated as sick leave in continuation of
the Earned Leave/Privilege Leave provided proper application is made
enclosed Medical Certificate.

In case any employee falls sick and does not have any sick leave to his credit,
the Casual / Earned Leave standing to his credit can be utilised.

11.

A) Casual Leave cannot be accumulated. Casual Leave cannot be availed of


more than three days at a time.
b) Casual Leave is not a matter of Right and application to avail to casual
leave must be made sufficient in advance and sanction obtained without
which the leave cannot be deemed to have been sanctioned.

Employee who will join in the mid of the year shall be given Sick and Casual
Leaves on prorata basis.

13.

a) CL & SL admissible under these Rules shall be INCLUSIVE of all Holidays,


weekly off whether occurring during or at either end of the period of leave i.e.
prefix, suffix and intervening Holidays and weekly offs shall be treated as
Leaves.
b) EL admissible under these rules shall be EXCLUSIVE of all Holidays,
weekly off whether occurring during or at either end of the period of leave.

14.

If any employee is deprived of any of the weekly holiday or paid holiday, he


shall be allowed, within the month in which the holidays were due to him or
within the two months immediately following that month, compensatory
holidays of equal number to the holidays so lost.

15.

Advance Leave shall be allowed in Special Cases with prior approval of the
Senior Vice President.

16.

In case of long leave (beyond 3 days) the priority of deduction of different


leaves will be as follows C.L., E.L. and S.L.

17.

The management may in any individual case of hardship relax these leave
rules, which however shall not be claimed as a precedent in any other case.

18.

The Company/Management reserves the right to modify, cancel or amend


any or all of these rules without any previous notice and give effect to them
as deemed fit.

19.

LEAVE ENCASHMENT :
a). Earned Leave and sick leave can be enchased by an employee once in a
year normally during January month at the prevalent wage / salary.
b). For the purpose of encashment Basic Pay only will be considered.
