Objectives

Rehabilitation and upgrading of Barrage for

improving its flow capacity by correcting the river
approach to barrage and reduce the water losses
through the gates. This will enable reliable and
uninterrupted supply of water for over 2.1 million
acres of farm land benefitting about 6,00,000
farm families for irrigation and domestic water
users. Build Punjab Irrigation and Power
Departments capacity in improved water
