Presentul Simplu exprim :

1. Adevruri generale. (The sun rises in the East and sets in the West.)
2. Aciuni obinuite, repetate n fiecare zi.
We go to school every morning.
Father smokes too much.
Presentul Simplu se folosete cu urmtoarele adverbe:
every (day/week/month/year)
seldom
usually
often
always
ever/never
sometimes
as a rule
habitually
once a week/twice a day, etc

Present Continuous exprim :

1. aciuni care au loc n momentul vorbirii ( aciunea a nceput naintea
momentului vorbirii, este n desfurare n momentul vorbirii i se va
termina n viitor).
Adverbele: now, at present, at the moment, Look, Listen.
The sun is shining in the sky now.
Look, the children are sleeping!
poate exprima viitorul cu verbele: to come, to arrive, to go, to leave, etc:
Our friends are arriving tomorrow.
He is going to London on Friday.
2. exprim aciuni care sunt repetate frecvent i ne iriteaz. Se folosesc
adverbele: always, constantly, for ever, continually.
He is always borrowing money from me but never gives it back.

Future Simple exprim :

1. Aciuni care vor avea loc ntr un moment dat n viitor. Se folosete cu
adverbele: tomorrow, next week (month, year, etc), the day after tomorrow.
I shall go on an interesting trip next week.
My friend will see a good film in the afternoon.

Past Simple exprim :

1. Aciuni terminate, care s-au efectuat ntr-un moment dat n trecut. Se
folosete cu adverbele: yesterday, last week (month, year,etc), that day, the
other day, then, when, once, in 1898, a week ago, etc.
Example: I met my old friend yesterday.
2. Aciuni obinuite, repetate n trecut.
Example: When I was a child, I played football every Sunday.

Past Contunuous exprim :

1. Aciuni care sunt n desfurare ntr-un moment dat n trecut. El corespunde
Imperfectului. Se folosete cu adverbele: at 6 oclock yesterday, at this time
yesterday, while, from 5 till 6 yesterday.
Example: While Marry was crossing the street, a car hit her.
When I saw her, she was crying.
While I was reading, mother was cooking.
At 4 oclock yesterday, I was sleeping.

Future Continuous exprim:

1. Aciuni care vor fi n desfurare ntr-un moment dat n viitor.

Example: This time tomorrow I will be flying to Paris.
2. Aciuni care se vor extinde de-a lungul unei perioade de timp n viitor:
Lucy will be writting letters all day long tomorrow.

Present Perfect exprim:

1. Aciuni efectuate n trecut dar fr a indica momentul efecturii aciunii.
I have visited an interesting museum.
BUT: I visited an interesting museum last week.
2. Aciuni care au nceput n trecut dar s-au terminat recent.
Adverbele: for, since, how long (in questions)
I have lived in Moldova for 2 years.
How long have you been ill?
We have learnt English since the first form.
3. Aciuni efectuate n trecutul recent. Adverbele: just, lately, recently, of late,
latterly, already, yet, till now, up to now, etc.
Tim hasnt written me lately.
We have recently been to Moscow.
They have already spoken to him.
We have just written a test.
Hasnt Julia come home yet?
4. Aciuni efectuate ntr-o perioad nedefinit de timp. Adverbele: today, this
week (month, year), this morning, etc.
I have seen him today.
5. Aciuni efectuate vre-o dat n viaa unui om. Adverbele: ever, never, often,
seldom, several times, always, etc.
We have never visited New York.
Have you ever seen a crocodile?

Present Perfect Continuous exprim

o aciune care a nceput n trecut, continu n prezent i va continua n viitor.
Adverbele: for, since.
Mary has been watering the flowers since morning.
I have been sleeping from 5 oclock.
Past Perfect Continuous exprim o aciune care a nceput naintea altei aciuni n
trecut i nc continu n trecut.
Adverbele: for, since.
The children had been walking for 2 hours when the storm began.

When mother came home, the baby had been sleeping for an hour.

Past Perfect exprim

aciuni care au avut loc naintea altei aciuni n trecut.
Adverbele: by, before, after, already, just, yet, etc.
I had finished my homework by 5 oclock.
When father came home, Tim had already done his homework.
Father came home after Tim had done his homework.
Tim had done his homework before father came home.
By the time the rain started, we had dug the whole garden.

Future Perfect exprim :

1. Aciuni care vor fi n desfurare pn ntr un moment dat n viitor. Se
folosete cu adverbele: by, by Monday, by that time, by tomorrow, by next
week (month, year, etc), by the end of the year, etc.
By the end of September, the flowers will have died.
He will have forgotten all about this by this time next year.

Future Perfect Continuous exprim

durata unei aciuni care se va fi n desfurare pn ntr un moment dat n viitor .
Adverbele: for, since, by.
By 6 oclock Ann will have been walking for 2 hours.
By September I will have been teaching in this school for twenty years.
