Why study at ACL?
ALC offers high-quality full-time and part-time courses at an affordable price. ALC is a
government registered language school and is accredited by the National ELT Accreditation
Scheme. Students are trained to think in English rather than translate from their own language.
Students receive an assessment report every four weeks to help them monitor their progress.
Full-time students can access the Internet and e-mail free of charge during private study time
each afternoon.
An effective teaching team
As well as having high professional qualifications, many ALC teachers have live abroad and
experienced learning a foreign language and living in a foreign environment. Like the
management of the Centre, they understand the process of language learning from the learners
point of view. They also understand the difficulties of living in a foreign country.
Courses on offer
General English Course
This course is offered at six levels from Beginner to Advanced and is suitable for student who
want to improve their general ability to communicate. There is a focus on speaking and listening
skills and the content of this course is directly relevant to students everyday lives. Students
learn language that they need to survive in Australia. For example, finding a job or
accommodation. They also learn everyday practical and conversational English. At the higher
levels, students learn language that will enable them to discuss complicated topics of global
interest. They also learn English for business as well as Australian history and culture.
Preparation Course
The course is suitable for students who plan to study at a business college or university. As
there is more emphasis in this course on reading and writing, it is also suitable for students who
are fluent in speaking but would like to develop more accuracy.
