5-Minute Daily Integer Drill: A Comparative Intervention Program to Improve the Procedural

Skill on Operations with Integers among Grade 7- Peace and Grade 7- Love of Puerto NHS

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Your child is being asked to participate in a research study conducted by Maria Eleonor C.
Banares, Antonio C. Escabarte, Venancia L. Magbaril; Donnessa P. Maninggo; Marcela G.
Librando; Mary Ann E. Medroso, and Kay A. Astorga from Puerto National High School.
The purpose of this study is to improve the skills of the Grade 7- Peace and Grade 7- Love
students on the operations with integers. This study will contribute to the researchers
completion of their action research.
Should you decide to allow your child to participate in this research study, you will be asked
to sign this consent form once all your questions have been answered to your satisfaction.
This study consists of an interview and of pre-test and post-test on Integers that will be
administered to individual participants in Grade 7- Peace and Grade 7- Love. Your child will
be asked to provide answers to a series of questions related to improving their skills on the
operations with Integers.
Participation in this study will require 5-10 minutes for the Interview and 40 minutes for the
pre-test and post-test. Potential benefits from participation in this study include the
improvement of the skills of your child on the operations with Integers. If successful, this
action research will be implemented to all year levels to improve the students skills in
dealing with operations with integers.
The results of this research will be presented at the classroom and at the district/division
research panels. Your child will be identified in the research records by a code name or
number. The researchers retain the right to use and publish non-identifiable data. When the
results of this research are published or discussed in conferences, no information will be
included that would reveal your childs identity. All data will be stored in a secure location
accessible only to the researchers.
Your childs participation is entirely voluntary. He/she is free to choose not to participate.
Should you and your child choose to participate, he/she can withdraw at any time without
consequences of any kind.
